@@silashurd3597 Makarov shot Soap in a close distance, driving the bullet faster. Nolan's shot of Ivan was a bit far, presuming a justified reason that he may survive it and get it out. It might also be a lethal ploy by Makarov to get his men to be more loyal to him by showing what happens if they fail and Ivan accepted that honor (though that may be out of his character).

SHG really lost the plot with MW3 post-launch. It’s almost like they gave up once they saw how negatively received the campaign was. It’s literally Vanguard all over again.

I think its more so that MW3 was meant to be an expansion so SHG has no real direction for the themes of its post-launch content. This results in them just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. Personally I kind of like the randomness of it all but I can see how it can all be interpreted as nonsensical as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the second year of BO6 is similar to what we got here. (if the rumors are true that BO6 will be supported for a second year as another "standalone' title like how MW3 was)
