To be fair, cod WOULD be fun even if a games mechanics weren’t the best if you would just be put in some bot lobbies after a few games just to relax a bit with your team. It seems now that if you win a game it’s more of a punishment when you will be put in with even sweatier and sweatier teams. Even worse if you’re with 2 or more people just having fun as the game will think you’re in a party and put you with other full teams full of sweats. It’s why I haven’t played cod multiplayer in a few years. I just don’t wanna sweat after working a full shift

The movement was so stiff that it basically made you Target practice for snipers, there were 1000 different scopes,muzzles and sights that essentially all did the same thing and it just looks way more gritty and devoid of color compared to mw3.

MWII is one of my favorite CODs *precisely* because how slow it was. Emphasis on aiming over movement, almost like the older games. People say it promoted camping but unlike Ghosts the maps were created with camping deterrents in mind and the sizes wasn't to enormous to promote camping. If anything, MWII added several mechanics against turtles and power spots like bomb drones, drill charges in lethal/underbarrel, ledge shooting with pistols, ladder pistol shooting, ascenders didn't lock you on animation, etc. The gameplay was consistent, you expect everyone to move in the same way and engage accordingly, unlike Vanguard supression halting your sprint by missing near you, you kept a certain speed that couldn't be changed drastically even by external factors, thus, making consistently in fights far more enjoyable. *However, this kind of gameplay is far more different than MW2019, which is sadly 90% of the playerbase and slower paced engagements are far less popular with the current public, you can't make, lets say, TikTok and KZbin Shorts as appealing with MWII like with MW2019, Vanguard or Cold War*

If there’s one thing COD players love more than anything it’s complaining. I love multiplayer and zombies, and I see the same thing in the zombies community. I have been playing since the beginning of zombies, and Cold War is just my personal favorite zombies mode, but I am crucified wherever I share this opinion, and I’ve even been told I’m being “paid by activision” lol. The reality is there is no game that will please everyone, but content creators at large reinforce the negativity and it can be pretty frustrating if you’re someone like me who just wants to enjoy the game! I believe MW2 was designed to work more like an older COD, as you said, but it’s unclear to me why this is touted as objectively bad. And honestly, I do prefer CODs with crazier movement (I just like the insanity of it, idk), but the idea that MW2 lacks a proper skill curve is just… not true. Like you said, gun fights were more homogenous in this game, but that also emphasizes strategy, positioning, aim, etc.

You can still play BF2042 competitively as well. At least for BO6 tho now, the movement actually caters to the action movie feel of how people like to move in cod, so it doesn’t matter anymore. No matter how you move, you’re playing the game as intended now with its super hero action movie feel, unlike how they went with the mil-sim feel for the new mw games. I would really like to see a milsim cod tho with the feel they make their games with… I’d really like to play ARMA 3 and BF4 on my first pc I just bought for $2,400… can’t wait.

In my opinion. MW2 was a good game. Just bad choices for how the game was delivered. The devs' goal was to make this kinda like a tactical game, which is why we had all these slow movements and no slides or bunny hopping. Now im no og call of duty player. i started playing warzone in late 2020. this was the first cod game that i actually bought, and man i have so many good memories from both the multiplayer and the campaign. Grinding nukes on this game was really fun. The fact that you dont have a kill counter like mw2019 and the most recent mw3 makes you to try hard a liitle more by playing more safe and strategic cause you dont know what streak you're on. And also, the calling cards rewards was the best I ever seen on a CoD before, the "no escape" and "cloudy day" are the best imo

To be fair, it's understandable that they added separate shared unlocks, given how compatible are the attachments between the guns of similar characteristics. It wasn't perfect, but it made you try other guns. Glad they fixed it on MW3.

i only play la casa 24/7 i’m pretty used to the movement in mw2 and i’m pretty good at it, and most of my games in la casa i drop about 35 kills and get like 9 deaths on average. But it gets bad whenever you die to a fire shotgun camper, i also usually play aggressive. But it’s maddd annoying whenever someone kills you whenever you’re a few kills away from a nuke

I feel so conflicted on MWII, honestly. I didn't hate the movement as much as a lot of people did, but the lack of red dots on the minimap alongside the way spawns work just killed pacing. Graphics and art wise, I think it ended up a bit of a downgrade from MW2019, and it made things feel a lot more 'disconnected' from the kind of game IW wanted. It's obvious they want a very tactical, more realistic take on COD - but the game *looks* like it should be way more arcadey than it is, if that makes sense. I'll give them this, though - I loved how the guns felt. Visual recoil and overall 'noise' (with all the smoke and effects from everything from gunfire to grenades) was definetly an issue, especially on last gen, but everything felt *punchy* and I really can't think of a single gun that wasn't fun to shoot.

Honestly if MW2 didn’t remove movement and didn’t add in weapon tuning and actually gave us MW2 maps instead of putting them into MW3 MW2 probably would have been a solid cod

I actually had a blast playing MW2 2022 because it was reminiscent of the older cods. The whole slide canceling fast movement is fun for a little but it gets tiring. The amount of attachments were def unnecessary and could've been toned down but the tuning system was great and took no effort. I feel if Activision went through with their promise of a 2 year support cycle on mw2 instead of scraping 3 together it would've been seen in better light.

Awesome video. Easy to watch all the way through. Hope you don’t mind me rambling a good bit about MWII. I’ve fully gone back to MWII in 2024. I know this sounds like COD Cycle copium, but I honestly think it’s the better game in the reboot trilogy. What most of us think of when we think about MW2022 is the absolute disappointment we all felt at launch, and going into Season 1. What a lot of people don’t realize (and I don’t blame you) is that this game became playable in Season 5 Reloaded, and a genuinely good game in Season 6. They added so many tweaks, including movement, that when the MW3 beta came out, I couldn’t help but think “This doesn’t feel that much faster than MW2.” And it’s not. Just look at how agile Ethan is in this video. This is NOT the movement we had at launch. Like MW3 is definitely faster, but not by much. The biggest disappointment for MWII is that it took the full lifecycle to actually become a great game. We could’ve and should’ve had this from launch. I like the fast TTK. Hell, I actually like the weird perk system. I get stoked hearing “Quick Fix online!” I like the “weightiness” of the guns. Every gunfight feels engaging. Every gun feels like it hits like a freight train. Not every map is good, but I like the design philosophy. They feel like real places a team would engage in. They all have a dynamic look and feel to them. MW3 maps feel either dated (the remakes) or like an arcade arena. They’re almost too bright. Paired with the slower TTK, MW3 feels more like paintball than close quarters combat. Which is the real reason MW3 feels like the immersion is dead. Not because of silly skins. But because it feels like a big nothingburger. Not to say there aren’t things I have issues with in this game. Just that I’m genuinely having more fun now than I did with MW3. Anyways, I smashed that like and subscribe. Next video, return to Vanguard?

@@eefanfor sure. My first few games on had me feeling like I had never played a COD before. I felt like an absolute moron, getting punished for pushing. Left the game for a few seasons, came back towards the end and really started feeling it. I feel like the biggest challenge in this game was finding the flow. You can jump into just about any other COD and get into it pretty easily. This game almost feels like an entirely separate series. Once you really started understanding the psychology of the game and its players, it got way easier to punish the campers with the comically overpowered, retina-damaging flashbangs, aggressive but smart plays, and map knowledge. Because, as we both know, campers are predictable morons. 😂 And in general, I became a better COD player because this game forced me to learn patient pushing.

Well the Bryson is the most hated gun in mw2. Literally someone did found out about it for dmz. Now everyone will have the broken Bryson in every dmz match. The only true 1-shot shotgun is the lockwood

I miss 2 things about this game 1. The game felt new at launch and was a full game. Unlike mwiii where now we are all tired of the mw setting now that we've had it for 2 years in a row. Mwii at least was fleshed out and didn't have the bugs or crunchtime like mwiii had. 2. My favorite mode in this game was ground war. This game was probably the best optimized for ground war, whether you were a sniper or used the tanks. That made the mode so much fun on top of the various maps unlike mwiii ground war where the only map i like is orlov base. My best memory from mwii ground war was getting a headshot kill from 200 meters away while the guy was using a helicopter

I think for attachments they should just make it to where all the guns in the class affect the level needed to unlock the attachments, that way I don’t have to grind each weapon to get the attachments I want

Wish they’d bring back the way snipers worked in the old cods like BO1. Loved how fast the snipers were. loved running around nuketown with a sniper quickscoping a bunch of bots on recruit difficulty FFA when I was 8. They need to port black ops 1 to modern consoles I hate the DualShock 3

In my opinion this game is great. But some of the main criticisms of the game are valid. The base movement could be a bit faster, the perk package system is a cool idea on paper but needs an overhaul and they went way overboard with the cosmetics. I don’t mind the shorter ttk. The slower ADS is fine. I personally like the visual recoil changes because I feel like they make the guns punchier and more powerful. I actually enjoy the gunsmith and the overhauled camo progression because it feels more nuanced. If IW was a bit more responsive to the community and tweaked a couple things we could’ve had a generational CoD imo.

I know this is an old game, but this game made me make a program that read the pixels differences in the attachment tuning to find the best spots to set it at. Played the game for a bit and got whatever the 'get gold on every gun' camo was and stopped and never played it again. Slide cancelling being gone, snaking being the new hotness, super fast ttk along with keeping rotational AA was just to much for me to pick it up again.

I love fast movement and i enjoyed mw2019 alot but also the more slower paced and tactical feel of mw2 was something fresh, i was expecting a slower game and they delivered. I dont like mw3 much tho, im still upset that they sold the same game with different speed values and got away with it.

On the topic of bo6, i feel like omnimovement isnt a really bad feature but it also radically changes how the game works again, im enjoying the beta so far, waiting for release but i know that activision will find a way to fuck the game up somehow.
