Did mine today after finding my toilet had failed to fill and was hissing out abit of water only at 5am.... found the washer at screwfix for £3.70 and had it fitted in a few minutes after watching the vid. Only needed a flathead screwdriver to turn off the water.

Where should the water come through when it's filling? Does it come through the front of the valve or should it come through the spout on the side? Also, what is the other part on the top, (with the hole in the centre and some kind of rubber washer that can be seen) that can also be removed? Thanks.

I've changed the diaphragm, now the water will flow for a few seconds then stops. I've taken the arm off in case that was sticking, but it still doesn't fill. Any ideas why this is happening, please? :)

Can change the height of the buoyancy as it might be set really low. If that is not the problem, value may be installed incorrectly or wrong size.

i've replaced mine and now the water comes oujt the hole in the arm and wont stop even when full. any ideas?

Has the arm been replaced properly? It needs to bee inbetween the 2 holders. Add me on twitter ( @igame613 ) if you want a pic of what I mean.

This repair will work 7 out of 10 times , then you need a complete new valve , there is nothing more you can do with it .

Depending on the brand perhaps. Mine is 30 year old and this is the first time I’ve to replace a membrane.

SIAMP diaphragm only lasting 2-3 years, not impressed

Siamp, waste of money. Torbeck is the way to go.
