I read a lot about the 'res delete' stuff online when I started with my 328... I was kind of surprised no one complained about drone. I think some people just aren't bothered by it so they just think it's just part of the 'sound of the exhaust'... But a resonator's job is to reduce resonance with the body of the car, or alter it. The sound outside of the car is also changed differently by a resonator or a muffler... Rarely do people cover all of these aspects when they're dialing in the muffler sound they want... so thanks for all of you considerations and taking us along with you on your exhaustive journey. har.

I understand what you mean when it comes to the sound but to be honest, I really like the way it sounds now. Just my opinion although we all have our preferences. I like the subtle sound! I have a 328 as well and definitely getting this set up you have now. But don't give up, keep working on the sound you are looking for! Love your videos. P.S. I love how it changes the acceleration without doing major work; one of many great ideas that you have mentioned. You would have to have them paint-matched at a body shop. You'll just receive them primed and ready to paint.

Should have got the AWE Touring MidPipe and exhaust setup for $1,100 and achieved the same sound as the original setup you had, but minus the drone. Even the performance 3" midpipe by AWE has a small resonator. Don't EVER delete your resonator. That's a bad idea unless your project is a track only car. I have the AWE Touring exhaust on my 2017 320i and it sounds AMAZING! I do have full bolt ons, recirculating Diverter valve, Mishimoto Oil Catch Can (a must on all turbo BMWs) and a hi-flo catted Downpipe, dual stacked racing FMIC with a stage 2 tune. It's the perfect combo. The gas savings of a 320i daily driver on Comfort Mode, but has enough ball$ to rip a stock 335i on Sport+ mode.

? Your 2017 is way different than my 2009 bro. They're completely different chassis with different engines lol. AWE doesn't even make an exhaust for E90 328i's so idk what you're talking about I should have gotten it for mine. Glad you were able achieve the sound you want though.

@@InlineSixAuto maybe AWE doesn't make one for yours, but there are plenty of other companies that do tho correct? The chasis isn't that different dude. The car literally looks like an F30. Basically the same freaking chasis. One google search yielded some results. Borla makes almost the same exhaust as AWE for the same price, $1,100, FOR YOUR CAR, and this includes a high performance midpipe. You went through 6 different setups and ended up with an inferior setup. 😂. You most likely spent more than $1,100 on labor alone going through those 6 failed attempts. Let's not even discuss the fact that your OEM exhaust system is literally worthless junk now and there's nothing to put back on if u decide to sell the car one day and sell the upgraded exhaust. 🤡 And it was just a suggestion, if my comment rubbed u the wrong way dude, you're sensitive. The point was you could have bought an all in one solution instead of chopping up your cars exhaust several times and ending up with a crappy sounding exhaust after 6 attempts. That's the damn point. If u don't like my suggestion, great, but having an attitude about it just shows you're feminine and can't stand criticism. Maybe you intentionally fumbled this for the sake of "content", ignoring the fact that your subscribers will also be wasting their time and money following your tard antics. Good luck with your channel, you're gonna need it with an attitude like that.

Well you live and you learn, haha. I remember asking you what you thought I should do a month or two ago. After all my research and asking, I’ve decided on a magnaflow 12148. No res delete as everyone with a lot of experience has said not to. Sucks it didn’t work for you but I’m sure it wasn’t too expensive to get it off and back on just to see. Like I said before, I just want that deep rumble and not for it to be super loud. What you got out of this is what I want. No drone, but sounds good. Thanks for sharing with us man. :)

That is exactly what I want actually. I don’t want anything loud, I am getting a touring and our neighborhood has a “loud exhaust sound” policy so that should be just enough. So, you got a Y pipe and a Mangaflow exhaust, right? LMK exactly what you ordered, I got a little confused when I was watching and lost track.

Whats the differnce between the Magnaflow muffler replacement sizing? Does inlet/outlet and length and diameter matter? Would it be a good idea to do a muffler swap on a stock 328i? If so which muffler and tip setup?

If you're not going to do a dual conversion like I did and just keep the single exit, I would just do a muffler and resonator delete. Its the cheapest option yet sounds better than any aftermarket muffler you could buy for the e90 328i.

Hey again, I have another question. I’m looking for a good sounding exhaust system, a Low Rough Growl for my E90 328i 2011. Any good ideas as to what to get? I want to avoid exhaust and resonator deletes.

You’ll have to delete something if you want any sort of growl. If you just get a an aftermarket muffler it won’t really have any change in sound from stock from what I’ve seen with my personal experience. Hopefully someone else can chime in with their ideas or experience or you can continue doing some research on some BMW forums.

Well I got a flowmaster straight pipe, kept muffler only did resonator delete. I have issues with not enough acceleration, what do you recommend? I have the adjustable throttle tuner, and k@n air filter. I was told an enclosed cold air intake, what else, besides that, could boost my acceleration, of course a turbo or supercharge but I’m not ready for either of those yet.

All you need is a muffler delete and or resonator delete. Shouldn’t be more than $200 at your local muffler shop

Definitely doesn’t sound as good but I’m chillin with how it is. At one point I was considering putting the stock muffler back on cause I was so over the drone lol. But I feel like this is a good compromise. Still some rumble to match the exterior look with no drone 👌🏼

Yes it works for either. as long as its an E90 sedan. I dont think it will work on an E92 coupe

I was thinking of putting a race muffler without the resonator but I’m afraid it’ll lose that deep tone. Now I’m thinking of just putting a bottle resonator with no muffler. I run a single exhaust set up and I have 3.5 inch tips in my closet…

Is there a reason you want to put a race muffler? I think just deleting the muffler and resonator will give you the best sound since you have single exit as you heard in the video

@@InlineSixAuto okay so on my e90 325i I’ve had a muffler and resonator delete for almost a year and yes it sounds good, you get burbles, etc but idk sometimes at warm idle it’s quiet and when I pull up on my friends they don’t really hear me anymore I just want a loud and deep tone more like an actual exhaust sound with less Rasp more rumble maybe it’s my exhaust or I just simply can’t get the sound I want out of a n52 :(

@@luisgutierrez8634 I honestly don't think you could get much louder than that unless you could try deleting the secondary cats. or install headers but then you most likely wont pass emissions. From what I've seen installing any sort of 'performance' or 'race' muffler will sound pretty much the same as a muffler and or resonator delete. The only benefit of the muffler would be that it would tone down the drone as I mentioned in the video. I don't think it would add anything in regards to the sound. But yeah the N52 has a very short cap on sound and performance unfortunately. But hey its reliable lol.

I PREFER low maintenance. Obviously that should tell you the 328i is more appealing to me. Having money doesn’t eliminate the 335i high maintenance turbo charged engine parts and electronics… for someone that owned both… you should know this…
