Nice detailed video. But you don't need to do all this unnecessary, potentially damaging work. Just get a very thin bladed tool/knife, and slip it down the front edge of each button, and gently pry upwards. The button will just pop up and come off with no damage to the button or the car. Clip the replacement button back in the same position as the original, job done and only took about 60 seconds.😎👍

Cheers for the tip! I suspect if you post a video it will give ham fisted primates like myself a bit more confidence. Better than trying to follow what the op posted.

Would love to see how they look at night time drive
@InlineSixAuto Жыл бұрын
They look the same as the original black ones at night since all you can see are the symbols lit up. Can't really see the color.

No need for any of this, use a thin plastic prying tool & work very gently around the edges of the button. Just did mine this morning nothing broke, clicks and works perfectly fine.

Anyone knows how the trim around the buttons is called?

Have you considered the Bimmer-tech digital gauge cluster replacement?

I have not. I'm not really a fan of digital clusters tbh

Hi dude, do you have an install guide video on how you did the square shaped carbon piece that goes around the gear shifter??

If I bought a used car with those red buttons I’d immediately replace with factory black buttons.

how would you get access to the buttons in a manual car as the gear stick goes right to the buttons basically
@InlineSixAuto Жыл бұрын
I would think the leather piece around the shift knob could be removed and the you would have access to the unit with buttons. Not certain though that's just my guess

Forgive me for this negative comment but this is by far the worst video, way too complicated..all you have to do is use like a sticky clay sorta like gum and just stick it on and pull it up quickly and it pops up..idk why go through this hassle..just keeping it real
@InlineSixAuto Жыл бұрын
Have you done it that way? pretty sure that would break the tabs

I have done it this way. Everything went fine. No need to disassamble the whole thing. Best regards! 😊

Literally watched this video and was like sod that i aint doing that, got a thin pry tool under the buttons and they just popped off 🤣
@Drome619 Жыл бұрын
I tried the sticky clay thing and it actually works, although the original buttons might break by the clips, it's still way easier to do
