My 328i is 10 years old. I tried recharging but notice it didn't work. The air compressor seems to be fine, but the clutch is not spinning. So hopefully it's because I recharged it wrong and the lack of freon is the reason or maybe a leak.

bmw 535i 2011 the upper vents blowing cold air while hot air is being blown at the footwell area? I set them in auto and got this problem. Any idea why this happens?

It's worth purging the air from your gauge and pipe before connecting to the low pressure port so you don't pump air into the system.

I have a 2023 330e … its electric range is always charged as well. Like you mentioned, my vehicle out of no more started blowing semi cold air and sometimes full on hot air. In addition, there is a weird chemical smell and one time I got a message stating that my vehicle is unable to be in ELECTRIC mode due to system. Any ideas?

You probably have leak in your system if its already doing this and its only 2 years old. You'd need to take it to BMW or a euro shop so they can find the leak.

I got a 2011 328i E92 manual. Just recharged it 3 days ago with 3/4 of a can of the exact same stuff you used. My cabin is like a refrigerator now. Very happy. Hoping that it stays that way for a year. Question; there has been a weird humming noise coming from the engine just when the AC is on. Must be the compressor. I know that some some noise is normal but this seems about twice the normal sound. I was hopping that the recharge would get rid of that noise and it might have lowered it just a tad but it’s still noticeable. Does yours 328i seem like it has a loud compressor humming sound too?

Glad to hear it worked for you. Mine doesn't have a noticeable humming noise tbh. Unsure why it would be humming. Maybe just a noise from one of the spinning components

@@InlineSixAuto yeah initially thought that too but it’s only apparent when the AC is turned on. The best way to describe it is sounds like a vibration hum noise that is rhythmic. Kinda annoying 😏

my 2020 x5m50i ac temperature start to lose its cooling ability like your video. i am going to lose the warranty at the end of this year so i am worried that the dealership will just add more refrigerant but the real problem is that there is a leak in the AC refrigerant system and after few months the problem will be back again. please i would like to know how it is going on with you now after adding R-134A refrigerant. because i read that the when the ac is not working probably it is more than likely that the compressor is weakening and thats the main reason.

Mine is still pretty cold after almost a year. Your car is newer so if it’s already not blowing cold air, you probably have a leak somewhere or that part is failing already.

Is it normal to have to refill the AC or was it leaking?

I would say it’s normal if your car is 10+ years old. This car is 15 years old so overtime it just lost enough refrigerant to the point the ac doesn’t product cold air. But it also could be from a leak. But mine is still cold so I don’t think it has a leak.
