EUC's are like phones now. New models coming out every 4-6 months. Getting better with every new release/batch. I cant wait to see where they're at in a few years. The progression is insane. I started on a 16x in 2019. The wheels now are leaps and bounds better.

Still only has one wheel and thus the most unstable and kill-you-quick among all EVs.
@vafixer8885 Жыл бұрын
Would you recommend this as comparable to the V12 as a starter wheel for new riders? I like the suspension and saftey features as well as future proofing my purchase when i become more skilled. In Brazil the roads mayaswell be "off road" so riding a v12 beyond learning would be an actual pain when riding since that doesnt have suspension.

Certainly the V14 could be a good starter wheel and the suspension is very nice.

Lithium Ion batteries only lose capacity (slowly) for every discharge/charge cycle. The range can't be higher after a couple times than the first time. (But you get more used to the wheel and might ride it slightly differently)
@boblatkey71603 ай бұрын
@@supercurioTube I work for lithium ion battery manufacturer and our batteries due in fact increase in capacity after about 10 to 15 cycles and then they slowly go back in the other direction. Probably only the kind of stuff that you would notice in a lab with accurate measurement devices however.
@BruceWayne15325 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video Marty. I'm glad that your ankle is doing well enough to allow you to do this test. While 40 useable miles isn't the best, I would still consider it at the bottom range of a good commuter wheel (which would be my primary use case.) If it continues to hold up well, and performs well, I could easily see this being my next wheel. The excellent waterproofing, small size, and okay range seem like it would be a good fit as a commuter.

Thanks for the review, we definitely need more tests! The wheel looks great, but the headlight seems qite weak, I don't know if it is a camera or not. I don't know why, but new wheels don't want to go long distances. For instance - my X16 with a much smaller battery can do the same result as the Adventure...
@christopherclements4707 Жыл бұрын
The power differential between the adventure and your 16x is massive. We're talking about 84v vs 134v and a 2200w motor vs a 4000w c40 motor. Apples and oranges my friend
@Reikon_a Жыл бұрын
@@christopherclements4707 Yeah, I understand the differences, but something is wrong here. Marty hasn't pushed it so much and with such conditions power consumption doesn't have to be this big. I just don't get it, what's the point of having a heavy and expensive wheel, if it doesn't provide more distance at regular conditions.

Thanks Marty for the video. I’m also a bit concerned about the range, one reason might be the 4000w motor that draws more power than the mini and master; or maybe the firmware design, to achieve the off road performance; I am hoping inmotion will design a eco mode for commuters to gain a bit more range

@FabienMathey Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! Looking at the data you posted, it looks like this wheel might be similar in range than the other 2. The forst 25miles you rode faster than any of the other 2 wheels and the average speed moving is the same between the master mini and the v14. But because of that initially higher speed and the higher top speed, the battery drains a lot faster. So if you keep under 23-24mph, I think it will be similar maybe a little less. I’ll guess 55miles 😅

Many lights are weak on EUCs compared to Bicycle lights. I have a light I brought on Amazon years ago and it literally shows about 1/2 mile ahead...almost like a car. My V12 light is good, but I only see about 30-40 feet ahead max. That not a lot when going at a good speed. I may velcro my front bike light to my helmet. I brought a smart rear/Tail Brake light from Magic Shine, it is super bright and it lights a red ring about 10 feet around you while riding. I put that on back of my helmet

Even the “small” wheels are pretty big. I’ll stick with the S18 till something that’s actually 16” comes out, preferably a similar weight to the S18 too. I’m no range junky - my legs wouldn’t last anywhere near 40 miles. Half that would be fine for my uses if it means a weight reduction, though I’m quite lucky to live in a compact city.

Not that you really had a choice here as the advertised range was exaggerated for "normal" riding conditions, However, 18650 Lithium cells that are pushed to their Max Charge and Max discharge are only good for a few hundred "Duty Cycles" at best. (a Duty Cycle is a full discharge and full recharge). Following the "80/20" rule w/ Lithium's will increase their rated Duty Cycles by a factor of 4. IOW, a High-Performance Lithium pack rated for 400 Duty Cycles (100% full charge discharge down to less than 5%) will usually make 1600 Charge Cycles if charged to 80% max and Discharged to no less than 20%. This is why Cell Phones will go over 1000 charges easily and why the High Performance use of Lithium's in Radio Controlled Aircraft (Drones, Heli's etc.), E-bikes & E-cycles & other PEV's will only last a few hundred cycles before they will only take a 70% charge. (a max of 70% charging ability for a Lithium is considered the useful end of it's charging career). It's why "Balance Chargers" are so desired when charging a Lithium pack as they actually have the effect of extending the packs useful # of Duty Cycles considerably. It's why you'll get almost nothing on your EV when trying to sell it after it's charging abilities have diminished to that 70% level. Lithium's are Expensive to replace and make up a Huge portion of the original selling price for All PEV's & EV's.
