This is insane!!! Since you’ve been putting out the recent various “handle path” video drills, I’ve had to club down on ALL of my approach shots because I’ve gained 10-20 yards of distance on my irons, leaving my ball on the back or even off the back of the green. So, I’ve had to club down 1-2 clubs to compensate for the added distance I’ve gained. It’s a great thing to complain about. Don’t get me started on my driver and woods! I’m now, literally, (no BS) 40-60 yards past my buddy who was just as long as I was. Thank you Steve!!!

Steve, first of all thank you for this video. The concept of the clubhead going out to meet the ball was like a lightbulb moment for me. I took this to the driving range this afternoon and had the best session I've had in a long time. My short irons were crisp and compressed and on target. This is a game changer.

Hey Steve, Just wanted to say, that at first I struggled to miss the noodle, but I had an aha moment after watching your video on the hip movement of 4 to 8 o'clock. Once I focused on moving my left hip towards 8 o'clock early on the downswing, I never hit the noodle again. That early hip move opens the alley for the hands to miss the noodle. I feel that combining that drill with the noodle set up has really transformed my swing. I can't thank you enough.

I love your attention to detail. The explantions are concise and understandable. TY for this, while this is not my issue (I tend to come slightly over the top with a closed clubface and I'm working on leading with the hips to start the downswing and shallowing the club more). I have used the Tour Striker to keep my arms connected to solve my early issues with that "window between the arms" you mentioned. You've earned a new subscriber!

Hi Steve. Thank you for the great video. I tried it at the range and it works well. My bad shot now is pulled shots. This is probably due to me overdoing the tipping of the club head forward in the downswing. What should I do in the downswing to prevent the pulled shots?

If you can confirm this than you can start swinging more rightward coming into the ball.

Might be the best training aid ever for the cost of ~ $30! Like you, I'm a slightly older guy, still having said that my 180 yard club is my 7 iron... yet I often find I struggle to hit my driver 230 on the fly??? I'm thinking this has a lot to do with that fact. Thanks for the video!

Hey Steve, I just ordered a mic stand for this drill. My question is regarding the set up. You say to have it pointing about pocket high, in line with your right hip. How far away from your right hip is the end of the noodle? It appears from down the line view that it is about one foot from your hip. Is this correct? How important is this variable - the distance from the end of the noodle to your right hip? In other words, how much room do you leave for your hands to pass by the noodle end without touching it? Thanks again for all your great videos.
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 Жыл бұрын
Give your hands enough room to just clear it in the backswing. I have it lined up with the right hip but some will put it a bit closer to center.

playing on and off for 40 years - i maybe have solid contact on shots 20% of the time - i just turned 69 years old - and maybe i hit my driver 175 yds on average and cant hit a 5 iron more than 130 yards - i seem to be getting worse as i age - ive tried literally 15 different ways to swing from many on youtube - nothing really works for more than 1 or 2 times - im so tired of guys telling me that start off taking half swings - everyone says that - everyone says give their method a chance - for me if im not improving at all after 2 weeks im out of that system
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 Жыл бұрын
I'm not an advocate of half swings or giving up on yourself physically. And I agree 2 weeks (if you practice) is enough time for the seeds to germinate enough to know if it will bear fruit.

Shallowing is only the result of doing other moves correctly. It’s not possible to get the shallow path by separating it from the rest of the swing.
@Inmotion70

A lot of people get shallow and then go under the plane and get stuck.

Lots of respect for your instruction but doesn't this require a lot of manipulation with the trail hand? This can lead to hooks and inconsistent face contact as well. BTW - a totally different approach is Moe Norman (probably the most accurate driver /striker ever) and Bryson DeChambeau both have lead arm extended out - with the logic that pure force extends the club face out for consistent contact. Anyways - I find the latter approach much more simple and easier for the busy family guy that has no time to be a range rat. Ps . I used to see lots of guys getting stuck because of the overly long John Daly back swings. Go simple and shorter like John Rahm :) .. accuracy over 'in the rough' . Anyways your mileage and suffering may vary :)
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 Жыл бұрын
The trail hand only extends, then flexes. The clubface stays square to the arc just like Bryson's.

Not going to be going anywhere if you won’t stand still long enough so I can figure out exactly where I’m supposed to be!!! Front on view might help. Most frustrating video ever listening to what could happen or what might happen instead of getting lined up correctly.
