Hi Pat,because of your great English l got to think that you were British,Australian or a well spoken American....now l found out you are from Belgium...l wonder...how many languages do you speak..just out of curiosity..also French,Flemish, and German?..l ask you this since l consider multilingualism and command of Jazz among the rarest, most demanding skills ever, all the best!!!

Hi Mariano, thanks for the compliment! Here in Belgium we have 3 official languages (Dutch, French and German). We have been invaded so many times in the Middle Ages that quite a few languages found their way into our educational system. I have lived in the UK (Leeds) for a while (my wife was from London) so I had a good teacher :) Also, bear in mind, we don't translate any TV shows or movies. It's always the original soundtrack and then subtitled. So we are used to hearing a multitude of different languages and that includes how things are pronounced. People from the Dutch part of Belgium (called: Flanders) take pride in learning a bit of the language of the country they go on holiday to. We are a weird crowd! Cheers!

Fabulous discussion! It's important to recognize a challenge. Isn't that why we study jazz, for the fulfillment of working toward musical challenges? Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. This helped alot in learning the song, too. Excited to see what you do In the future!

Thanks Adam! You are absolutely right, it is challenging and that is one of the attractions. There's nothing more satisfying than the feeling of progression on your musical journey. Plateauing every now and again is also part of the deal. As long as we realize we can move forward after that, we will keep moving forward. All the best!
