Thank you. Iridium's cost-benefit ratio was 30 times that of GSM and the prices per minute were 90 times higher. Furthermore, the Iridium 9505 mobile phone with its unwieldy antenna was three times heavier than the simplest cell phone on the market at the time, the Nokia 5110. The early Iridium system was very slow with data. It is a solution for extremely remote areas (oceans, deserts, jungle) that is why it has military purposes.
