Hey Colin just wanted to say what a great detailed video building your folding outfeed table. I ended up replicating your idea and built one of my own. The only change I made was laminating all edges and top. You’re right about those brackets though, very heavy duty and more than strong enough to support anything I rip with my cabinet saw. Thx again Colin great work👍

Great idea and a great video, couldn't wait to put this on my saw. I have tried several times to come up with an idea for this but nothing ever worked very well. I have a job site ridgid saw that folds up to move like a hand truck. The lower base is plastic and the attachment points are at a 30 deg horizontal angle with a 15 deg vertical angle. Never the less, through trial and effort I got the brackets made and for additional stability bolted them to the metal table as well. Cut the miter extensions and added your paddle release mechanism. I couldn't be more pleased. I can still fold the saw and I added a magnet to keep the table from rocking while moving. Thank you sir.

Hi Gary. Did you secure 2x2s to your table saw like he did? I just don’t understand why the brackets can’t be screwed to the saw and the top positioned in the same place as he had it. That would mean you are just securing the plywood a little further down on the bracket. ???

Those Rigid stands are awesome. There's a pin on the underside that can make it flat/unmoveable or it can pivot quite a bit. Also, on a jobsite, if you have to rip a 16' board you can set up one behind the saw to support the infeed side and one in front to support the outfeed side. The first time I saw one of those I was amazed that I hadn't seen these sooner. How many times have installers had to have help to simply rip a board? Billions and billions of times. Now it's a one-man operation.

I did this to make a left side extension, and an outfeed table for my contractors saw and wow, what a world of difference. I used two of the same latching hinges, $29.00 per pair, Amazon, you used here. Because of the cabinet I also built, the outfeed is about an inch below the saw table but the left side extension is dead on. Thanks for the idea. johnny

Hi Colin, I made this outfield table for my contractor style table saw. I ended up making a cut out for the motor. That worked great. I ran into a problem when I tried to move the blade for a 45 degrees cut. The motor would bump into the hinge for the table top. I am having to move the let down hinge over about 7 inches. Making the bracket over is turning out to be real problem. I am making the extension out of some flat steel plate and some angel iron. I think I have it figured out. I also updated my out feed table with the lever to lower the out feed table. Thanks for the idea for the out feed table. It works great.

Thanks, I made this table saw out feed table for my table saw. It works great. I have a contractors type saw so I had to remove a section and add a piece of plywood that I remove when folding down the out feed table. I also added the lever out to the edge to help lower the table. I used some captive nuts to hold the table to the brackets. I recessed the TEE nuts so they are below the level of the table. Thanks again

I like this quite a bit. Especially since the back rail for supporting the fence on your saw is made of angle iron as does mine. Other solutions I have seen depend on that support being made of square tube steel which have a bottom surface that can be drilled so as not to interfere with the travel of the fence. Despite the cost of the brackets, I'll be doing this build.

Neat, I have only a small table saw, from a local store. It has thin metal side extensions, in order to give me more room, garage isn't too wide, I put these sides on hinges and prop them up with a couple of stays when needed. If I can find those brackets here in the UK, I will try your idea. Best regards Geoff Maddison.

"Drill a pilot hole" That's the way to say it. English is not my language and I always get confused when woodworkers say pre-drill, which I think is impossible, since you can't pre-do something. You just do something. Same thing when people say in english things like seven times smaller instead of using fractions. Things can't be x times smaller than themselves. Great video. I need to make an outfeed table for my delta 36-725. Thanks.
@elijahmcstotts28715 жыл бұрын
Just a theory about why we say "7 times smaller" instead of using fractions is because a large majority of us (most woodworkers not included) don't know how to use fractions...
