Hi My names Pamela and I’m from Scotland UK. I’m Delighted to say Iv just set up my first ever under Gravel Filter for my Fancy Goldfish, using kitty litter and Gravel. I’m so fed up spending Thousands on Fish and all they do is die. I decided to do this as I kept doing the same thing and they always Die. My fingers are crossed that this helps my Goldfish. Looking forward to part 2. Really curious how you plan to plumb the UGF plate to the pump in the back and keep flow low enough that it isn't just pulling fully oxygenated water through. I have three of the Aqueon cubes this size and enjoying them well enough. However, the build quality on that tank looks substantially better. The glass is definitely thicker. Haven't had any issues with my Aqueons, but really not happy with their thin glass. And if course not an AIO which is fine by me for the time being. Maybe part 2 will change my mind and I get to go shopping again hahaha.. Have a great day 😀

I recently bought that tank for saltwater and its excellent. I did upgrade the pump with an inexpensive vivosun 480gph pump. There are so many parts for these aquariums. Good luck with yours.

Question for you, I've have a 20 gallon tall planted tank setup now for about 6 months. Easy slow growing plants. Three Amazon Swords & a few smaller Crypts. I have used Miracle Ground as basic plant Rich substrate, think more like a Diana Walstad Aquarium setup. Overall the tank, fish & plants are generally fine. But what I'm having issues is the water will still turn a light green tint. A few leaves will have algae on them. The gravel will also show green algae on the small pebbles that keep the soil capped. I have not added a plenum yet which I might when I rescape tank again. I recently did a 100% water change but after 5-6 days tank water appears light green tint again. I've also adjust light timers to only be in for 1-3 hours during the day instead of regular 4-6 hours before. No CO2 used. I haven't tested the water for high phosphates. I only have a school of Neons so I feel once a day a little flake food or every other day. So I'm not overfeeding. My guess is the soil is emitting too much nutrients such as phosphates causing green water & algae on substrate & a few leaves. If I redo tank I might use eco complete or other along with using a plenum. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

I recently bought a 29 gallon cube with low e glass. I am so excited to see you set this up to see what you do and give me some ideas. All 4 sides are clear with a glass top. I will put it in the middle of 2 open rooms so you can see it from any direction. I have everything to set it up with except gravel. Curious about the fish you are going to put in there.

I bought 50 micron mesh filter bags and placed them inside the 200 micron standard filter sock that comes with this tank. Made my life easier as the stock felt filter sock is so hard to clean. It is rectangular and very stiff. You can't turn it inside out easily to clean.

I think you're going to love the bags. You don't even have to remove them from the filter sock.

I have a question after you put a media basket in the first row do you need another filtration in row 2 or no u can keep it empty and put like a heater in that row?

For saltwater use not freshwater
