Props are in the way. The lid is so light. The props can go further back. If the tank is closer to the wall, there is a gap in the lid lip that props it up perfectly alone.

The whole point to the lid propz, xl lid propz, and foldable lid propz is to allow the light to remain above the tank so you can see what you’re doing when you’re trimming plants etc. with the lid light. The xl model is more for aquascaping, adding fish, stuff like that, foldable is for if you’re one of those constant testers or people messing with the tank so you can just leave the props attached to the tank. They all have an intended purpose. Tip for ya too, there’s multiple videos on multiple products

Ok, so.....I’m using the original inlet covers with black course sponge behind, if I’m gonna replace with those flush flat inlet covers are they easy to remove if need be to clean etc or are they fiddle to remove aswell. Being quite flat I thought maybe hard to get your nail or finder under edge to lift off? Now also with the lid props...what’s keeping the lid from falling down the back at the edge of the tank? What I mean is ive been using the taped light cord section that’s kinda raised from underneath the lid to rest against tank edge so to stop the lid from slipping n falling down behind the tank behind my cupboard. I know there’s two small plastic prong kind I’d bits that’s assumedly for resting against tank edge but I find them short and not too reliable, having the lid fall if bumped etc. I can’t quite see close enough in your video to see if your using them or not. I was thinking over the lid lifters and wondering instead of them just being corner pieces , “could” something be made that included front corners but continued straight across the front rim of tank so the glare of light wasn’t visible ? Fair enough leave the sides open but enclose the front wrapping around the front corners about the same amount as your ones do? What do you think ?...and could whom ever it is make them. Unless these mod gadgets are actually from Fluval Company? Cheers...Lisa. Oh oh...what have you thought of to cover the top of filter section in rear so that snails etc don’t Shloop up n over into filter compartment....anything as yet? I’m still contemplating what to create or think of 😜
@AquatikGuru3 жыл бұрын
They come off fairly easy. Although, I haven’t had to remove them yet. As far as the props, the lid has a ridge on it, along with 2 tabs in the back that prevent it from sliding backwards when opened. As fas as snails, I haven’t had any make it to the back compartment. I’m not sure if they just don’t, or don’t want to haha!

It’s actually extremely common that people remove it. I’d personally just go get a uns cube tank if I didn’t want the filtration back there. The glass is so thin I personally feel that helps keep it sturdier. Lid props did offer a clear lid for a bit, I don’t know for sure that they still do or not

@AquatikGuru3 жыл бұрын
Best advice is plant in front of it with something like stem plants, that will prevent the light from hitting it as much. Another with that would be algae eaters, like otos, nerite snails, even rams horn pest snails will do a number on it. I can’t find anything the scrub the black one either.

They really showcase an aquascape. The lights a lil weak. That involves replacing the lid for a better light. The tank itself is nice right away. These upgrades make it more friendly I guess. Especially the lid props cuz if you keep you lid and light, it holds it open so you still have the lighting while you’re working on the tank. There’s spray bars to lower the flow. A bunch of nice upgrades fluval doesn’t offer. So my good friend LidPropz started making a ton of accessories for this tank and other tanks to make them more adaptable to multiple types of keeping.
