I was diagnosed last week as a glaucoma suspect with an OHT of 26 and a disc of .55 in both eyes so I figured I'd start learning now. Better to have a skill that I have no use for than to someday need it and not have it. Thank you for making this concise.

@@stapuft this is more effecient for blind people due to its simplicity. They can easily slide their finger across the surface without wasting time feeling for a tail to differentiate an O from Q. People who are born blind also wouldn't know the letter shapes we use and the dots would be much simpler to learn because each letter follows the same format rather than an obscure squiggle shape.

Have you tried speaking and focusing on a conversation while reading normally? It's pretty damn hard and if you can't do that, it's not likely you can do it with braille either. You will always either be neglecting the convo or the book

Wow this is surprisingly easy to memories. I think the difficult part is your sense of touch. Trying to figure out what the sign is without seeing is gonna be difficult. Idk how blind people can read these so quickly. Truly impressive.

Hi, I'm a blind student at the TSBVI (texas school for the blind or visual inpaired) and I got an award for the best braille reader and contracted braille reader. contracted braille is a shorter version of braille. like the word t h e it's the dots 2 3 4 6 which is also known as grade 2 braille.

My eyes are perfectly fine but I found myself watching this bliss KZbin, Molly Burke gotta love her, and next thing I know I’m learning Braille. Also, I was so proud of myself when I got the two words right. I legit stopped the video for like 4 mins just trying to figure it out. Respect for the Braille readers!

I have been teaching myself braille for the past year and while I have learned to read and write grade one braille this video was a nice refresher and has definitely helped and hopefully the videos on grade two braille will help me finally learn grade 2 thank you so much for posting

Wow, this method is amazing. I watched the video without pausing and I was actually able to guess the "c" and "a" in "cat" (I remembered the "closed" gate means horizontal line, means top two dots). I'm amazed I managed to memorize that in just 7 minutes, your method rocks!

I now not only know Morse code some what (it takes me a while to remember the alphabet but with enough time I’ll be fine) but I also know the brail alphabet. Learning the alphabet in different ways is honestly really cool. I’m now gonna try and learn the alphabet in sign language.

there is actual technology that could make this possible, converting RGB into a height measure on a pin board screen, though it would only be useful for digital Braille books or such as you can’t really feel an image

Braille is awesome! My favorite is grade 2 ! I love it because you can use more words to write sentences and challenge yourself. I feel like Braille has made me more confident in myself and able to do things without sight! Thank you God for allowing Louis Braille to create a wonderful writing system to help all blind and visually impaired people be successful in life!

and that's what learning is all about. You learn it first then work out where the hell you're ever going to need it. Useful for keypad numeric password creations?

Thank you so much for making this very easy to understand. My family have a genetic problem where if got diabetes it could cause the blood cells in the eyes to be damaged and some of my cousins and uncle could no longer properly see. Someday I might go blind myself....hopefully life would never be empty as long as I could still read.

I wanted to say thank you. I am 17. I was recently diagnosed with an anamolous form of glaucoma, that is progressing very quickly. I'm expected to go blind sometime in the next 5 years, even with treatment. I was struggling to learn braille, but this helped a ton.

everything is right, your explain is right, everything just right. i'm blind, and using braille 13 years. i am 13. yes indeed, i started with it when i was only 1 years old. i started to feel it firstly. and after that, i learned to read in the age of 3, and write in the age of 4 or 5. now, i'm 13.

Hi there, firstly, in response to Jan H, because dots can be read quickly. Raised letters could not. Moreover, braille uses less space than a raised letter that could be felt would be. Google something called moon. Is the closest system.

Hats off to this god send Louie Braille.A god for me and for my kids.Now my kids(students) have completed post graduation and BEd and is working in our school as Headmistress and Headmasters and college HOD,controlling even the sighted students and helping them to ..Without Braille they couldnt have reached this far ,equal to others."
