Popping in to this older video to say that the G-300 are my new training shoes as of today and I think they’re great. Wanted the wider toe box but needed a little more cushion and heel cup for heavy lifting and this checks all the boxes! They’re no minimalist or barefoot shoe, but they give my toes so much more room than most weightlifting heel shoes, so this is a good compromise.

Hi Jake, would you recommend the g 300 for daily/lifestyle wear? Love the aesthetic and design of the shoe. Brilliant review!
@thatfitfriend2 жыл бұрын
It could work, honestly! Tough to say until you try it out, honestly, because daily wear can be super individual at times with comfort/appearance. I think it's comfy enough for walking etc., though. I also like that you can wear this model a bit looser for casual wear due to its bootie-style construction. Thank you for checking out the video!

The g 300 might be the best inov-8 for daily feat. 2mm lugs only with wide construction for comfort on pavement and longer durability [add the to that their G technology for even better durability]. “Hard” EVA midsole with flat construction and without the extra cushioning is a good weight and foot-stability support for your daily standing/barely moving office/street hours, and again, longer durability (considering there are generally no shanks in sneakers). You also have the extra stability on the upper of the shoe, around the tongue, for extra foot-stability with occasional “weight lifting” along the day, like taking your grocery shoppings. The shoes sides, both sole and upper, are built for rope climbing which is great, super durability for your every-now-and-then abrasions in the city/country side. On top of all that, these still offer you the general breathable lightweight and flexibility of overall sport-sneakers, even though it’s weaker on those departments, but yet with zero drawbacks for your out of training daily life. These shoes also offer some drop to ease your daily duties but still a minimal one [the average sneakers drop is 8 which is low by itself, here you have 6] so you can work your foot along the day more naturally along its moving range. This is really a sweet-spot between daily comfort to “barefoot health”, and I will emphasize that for daily duties a drop-shoe is important for long term health, as “barefoot health” is great when you are mainly moving, but our forefathers didn’t have to stand still hours a day in accumulation and it is there where you really want that drop ease, not just for comfort but also for long term health. And yes, also what Jake said, them being bootie-style let you walk with them more loosely for even greater comfort, and to my personal opinion, this bootie-build is also another bonus for better long term durability of the shoes. Last thing, this shoes offer another sweet-spot in terms of stack thickness, 14mm on heel and 8mm on toe, which is definitely not barefoot and not even a minimalist standard, and yet gives you some feel of the ground beneath while also some elevation from random puddles or little dirt piles, and of course the cushioning to walk pretty free on every surface with comfort but also awareness and receiving some of the barefoot foot massage the ground offers. Personally, I would say these are among the best daily shoes one can have nowadays.

What effect does toe spring have on lifting?
@thatfitfriend3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the context! For recreational lifting, not so much. However, if you're tackling more athletic-focused lifting/high-velocity style movement, then it can help play into how the foot engages with the ground in these training settings!

Which one of these Inov-8 shoes is best for short runs during workouts? 1 mile at most...I like the 235, this would be my first pair. Currently using Asics Gel Craze.
@thatfitfriend2 жыл бұрын
The 235 V3s can work for that distance, but do note they'll feel much more "minimalist" and firm than where you're used to wearing now. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you don't mind that, however, it is different. The 260 V2 and G 300 are slightly better options if you want a bit more material/cushion for short runs. Again though, it really depends on what you're after in regard to fit/feel during your performance!

I ended up with the F Lite G 300! It was discounted on Amazon thru Zappos. Really good mid foot support, when you put your foot down it's going to stay. Decent on a short 1 mile run it's a light shoe. The rubber on the toe is perfect if you tend to drag like me. The heel is solid for dead lifts etc. The booty keeps it light and is comfortable. Only thing I wish is if there was room to tuck the shoe laces. I also wear orthotics being flat footed..no issues! Very stable if you like control knowing it plays its part as a solid base. They still look brand new and I wear 3 days a week and sometimes on weekends for regular day wear while running errands or just for fun. They are that great and versatile. Didn't mean to take so long to comment back! Cheers

I am torn between purchasing the inov8 F-light G 230 or the F-light 235 V3. The workouts these shoes would be seeing would consist of Sprint, short runs, box jumps, jump rope, Burpee‘s, CrossFit training, hiit, medium to light weight lifting. Any info on the differences between these two shoes and any guidance on what you may recommend that might fit my style of workout would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, Paul! I would go 235 V3, as it's a bit more dialed in for cross-training/CrossFit whereas the 230 offers a more "traditional" training shoe build. TBH, I think you'd enjoy either one and they'll both work, but I think the 235 V3 will be a bit more specific for your needs!

@@paulweisenbach384 Comments like this make my day. Super stoked to hear you've been enjoying them, and I agree, longer runs would def be best in dedicated running shoes.
