I bought Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult on vinyl at a record store a while ago (it was sitting there for ages and they put it on sale, and I've never listened to Inquisition) and I didn't know that you had to play it at 45 rpm (I was still new to vinyl), and at 33 rpm came the most evil thing a human could ever witness. The slower, doomy songs were insane. I literally thought that was what the album was supposed to sound like for almost a month.

Minus the mistake in RPM, this is EXACTLY how I discovered Inquisition. Saw four of their albums just sitting there in the metal section at the record store, and so eventually I decided to pull them up on Spotify while I was browsing the store. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I find Inquisition quite easy to listen to if you know what I mean. It must be down to the vocals, production and mix. Not something you usually get with BM.

Inquisition within the black metal genre is quite underrated and under appreciated. Just my opinion! I can listen to the sonic and melodic soundscapes of Inquisition over many of the more “Hip” black metal bands that get more attention.

Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm, track 3 Desolate Funeral Chant. Listen to it, if that dosent get you into Inquisition or even black metal. I don't know what the fuck ever will. Still my favorite album by them. But not my favorite black metal band though, Wolves in the throne room will always be my number one. All hail atmospheric black metal!
