I always pictured Demon Hunters as silent and wise assassins, with an undying passion for Illidan. Instead of yelling at people who talk to them IC, they'd be calm and collected and rhetorical. I guess if it were up to me to RP an Illidari, I'd be in the corner meditating and doing Tai Chi, only being a douchebag when provoked or insulted. Does anyone else remember Illidan standing on one leg, doing Tai Chi in warcraft 3? I want to be like that!

Scorpio Warrior No...Chen looks left and right with eager eyes if you leave him for too long. Uncorrupted Illidan on the other hand, stands on one foot and assumes the " Crane pose " when you leave him for too long. That's what I meant. Corrupted Illidan will hop in the air and stretch his wings if you leave him for too long.

Inquisitor Aura, I made my death knight take a fascination in demon hunters. I based it on how Illidan tried to assault the IceCrown, and how he admires how they have had a same enemy. Also I had the " You are like my kind, I respect your kind...Welcome to the Alliance...Thank you for helping my people...Lets unite our powers...Don't take shit from others who condemn you." Do you think this is a good move? What do you think Death Knights and Demon Hunters of the new generation will have as a relation? I say they tag team like some awesome Supernatural heroes.

Scirvire The Shadow Blade Lol, I had the same question. Personally, I view them as being like...friendly rivals, kinda. Like, they would engage in "whoever can kill the most demons buys drinks" kind of thing. They both have this kind of "We walk the Path of Darkness, so that others may walk the Path of Light" kind of mentality, willing to do whatever it takes to finish the job. Not to mention the similarities in that both are outcasts from their own people, and are a race/class of their own. They seem like they would be...if not friends, then colleagues. "Misery loves company" after all. A kind of grudging respect.

I RP my Demon Hunter as being reserved but not stoic. For instance, I RPed a scenario of a new Demon Hunter where she was on Argus for the events of the War of Thorns and Battle for Azeroth. Her initial response was a burst of anger that caused her immolation aura to go nuts. Then her second response was to get absolutely smashed in attempt to quell the demon voices in her mind. An experience she learns from when her demonic and fel magics go so out of control that she spent hours trying to claw her way back to her night elven form. She also has absolutely no tolerance for pun-based humour. Any sort of humour, hell - even blind jokes - she's willing to crack a smile at. But puns are absolutely out.

I only just found your channel and have to say it’s a huge resource for someone like myself trying to get back into the RP scene in WoW. Will you be doing a video on Padaren Death Knights at some point? Regardless I look forward to seeing more from you.
@TrainerJon18 жыл бұрын
Night Elves could have become demon hunters at any point after the War of the Ancients up until the training at Black Temple. This is not restrictive to either the Third War or the training of the Illidari. Illysanna Ravencrest is one such demon hunter that becomes one shortly after the War of the Ancients. Furthermore, there are other night elven demon hunters found throughout the world that are ambiguous as to when they actually became a demon hunter. The only prerequisite to becoming a demon hunter prior to the training of the Illidari is that your character found a mentor and actually got them to train you. After all, the demon hunter scrolls found in Darkshore are centuries old.

My Kaldorei ex-Illidari originally worshipped Illidan before he went to Outland, but the community of his friends convinced him not to try it. He was originally a druid, but he went to Outland to find Illidan after he went there to become a DH.

The reason blood elves can be demon hunters is because Keal'thas handed out a few to be trained by the Illidari night elves. This was during their allegiance. 5 blood elves were trained first of wich 3 died, 1 went insane and the last one was doing so well that he exceded the night elves. Though he later on in TBC gets killed by adventurers.
@InquisitorAura8 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It pretty much was "because they were there." The book puts a lot of that into perspective. The first 5 were sent by Kael. The rest appeared on their own.

Perfect video! Though I wanted to add in; with the new lore that Blizzard has put in, with the Demon Hunters being locked up in the Vault of the Wardens for about ten years. That would mean that your Demon hunter kind of doesn't know what has happened the past years. Such as the Cataclysm, the new world (Pandaria) and the Draenor that we went to in Wod. Or am I wrong? Just a thought, but let me know! #IRPEDADHBEFOREITWASCOOL
@InquisitorAura8 жыл бұрын
No, that makes sense. None of the newly awakened Illidari will know anything about what happened between the end of Burning Crusades and the beginning of Legion. They'll know nothing of the Cataclysm or Pandaria or Draenor.

I'm just curious before I proceed to further think of ever rp'ing a DH..Is it possible lore wise for a Demon Hunter be sort of "possessed" by a demon? (Think of Valeera and her possession) Sine Demon Hunters are Demons themselves after all, I thought it might be complex bc well.. They've dealt with that stuff before and are trained for a longass time for what they do. So in that sense Idk if ít'd be lore friendly to have a Demon Hunter being possessed by a stronger demon (driving them to the peak of insanity and/or uncontrollable rage and hunter for power)?

I've got a couple questions, if that's okay? Okie dokie here we go: 1) Demon hunters have been known to exist in few numbers at around the time of the WoTa and the War of the satyrs - are their rituals inferior? Do they make the DH's less empowered compared to Illidans methods? 2) Is it possible to arrive to a history of your character being trained as a DH under a different source (War of the satyrs) then following the 10,000 years of imprisonment of Illidan going off to train UNDER him to gain a more acute knowledge and train your power? I doubt it, but there's some people going around speculating this is possible and I reckon it might be. 3) Not a question, and I know these are general guidelines but I just wanted your opinion on the matter. I've read the book so I know how the rituals are done, perhaps in response to 1&2 there would be a higher death rate maybe but idk.
@InquisitorAura8 жыл бұрын
I have not read Illidan, but I am in the process, so I will answer these as best I can: 1. If they are not the same rituals Illidan teaches the Illidari, I would say they are not inferior, just different. That they were trying to copy Illidan would make sense because it was about this time that the Worgen curse was also created because the satyr were a problem. 2. I don't see why not. They could have followed Illidan to Outland and undertaken the "proper" Demon Hunter rituals and complete their training there. Alternatively, they could have found one of the rogue Demon Hunters in hiding and trained with them until Illidan was freed, and then followed him. 3. Well, the rituals that Illidan teaches have a fairly high mortality rate, so a copied ritual would probably be even more dangerous so yes, a higher death rate is more than possible.

Would it be possible for, say, a well-intentioned extremist or a Demon Hunter having regrets to forcibly part the Fel from the Demon Hunter? Or would it kill them? If not... what would they become? A broken, pain-wracked shell?
@InquisitorAura7 жыл бұрын
Because the ritual binds the soul of the demon to the soul of the hunter, there is no way to separate them. The change is permanent.
@MinorityKid257 жыл бұрын
I don't know if this is a silly question, or if it'll be seen? But would it be weird to have a demon hunter that respects Lor'themar as a leader and looks up to him/is fine with following under his leadership? I only ask cause blood elves went with Kaelthas and those under Kael and Lor were almost like two different factions.
@InquisitorAura7 жыл бұрын
MinorityKid25 I don't see why not. The blood elves that went through the demon hunter ritual knew Kael had betrayed them already, so there'd be no love lost there. Embracing the Horde and its current leadership is a way of trying to bridge the gap between the Illidari and the rest of Azeroths forces, so it makes sense.
@MinorityKid257 жыл бұрын
Inquisitor Aura thank you for the reply. Though I don't full out roleplay, background stories and character relations are something I really enjoy making, whether it be WoW, Elder Scrolls, or any other rpg. I'm just sometimes not sure if something makes sense and then I have to ask. Thank you again for the answer.

So if you have two Night Elf characters, one a Demon Hunter and the other a different class, like a druid, it's possible for the Demon Hunter to be the Druid's parent?
@InquisitorAura7 жыл бұрын
Well, biologically, sure. Don't see why not. But DH's were imprisoned for a decade so they haven't gotten anyone pregnant in at least that long LOL
@briansanders81227 жыл бұрын
Well, 20 years of being father-deprived could have had an effect on a mid-twenties aged Night Elf Druid. (Keep in mind I added together the ten years of required training and the ten years of imprisonment.)

Can a demon Hunter (since they all have a demon inside them and I constantly see dh-s choosing a specific demon that influences their character) consume a natrazheem. Now I know that omg why do I wanna be so op and stuff but actually I would rp him as a pretty weak person who instead manipulates and seduces people to do his bidding (since that's what natrazheem do)

It's not a 10 year time gap. The year is currently 32 After the Dark Portal. The demon hunters were imprisoned year 26 After the Dark Portal. That's not a 10 year time gap nor is there any kind of RPing in the future thing going on. Everyone is on the same timeline. The demon hunters are in year 32 and the normal people are in year 32. It's very strange how shoddy this all is.

Hmm ... constant pain ... expected to sacrifice ... mistrusted ... shunned ... trained by a famous figure from Warcraft 3 ... so how do you think these are different from Death Knights? Hmm, I wonder if Blizzard will ever make a "champion" class that is happy.
@InquisitorAura8 жыл бұрын
Its the Hero's Quest- the hero classes are designed with that in mind. Yes, they suffer and sacrifice, but these are often considered to be defining traits of heroes. Sure, Blizzard could be more creative with it, but happiness does not breed heroes (at least not in most literature that is fantasy based) and Blizz knew they would do Demon Hunters as soon as they started working on Death Knights.
@dshire38 жыл бұрын
+Inquisitor Aura ok. I grant you that most heroes have suffered a tragedy or some injustice they are trying to avenge. comic book characters all come from "an important person to me was killed" cliches. And yes most heroes know the virtue of sacrifice. But the demon hunters and death knights are extremely dark renditions of these traits. This is dark, depressing stuff. Not all heroes are dark like this. Good comic book example is how bright a character the Flash is compared to the recent versions of Batman. Or from works of literature there are great heroes like Tarzan, John Carter, Aragorn, Gandalf etc etc. I could reference the Jedi if I were not still cringing from the prequels. Anyway, my point is that not every "hero" has to be so dark. And yes we have virtuous classes in the game - holy priest, paladin, etc. I just think it would be nice for Blizzard to make a champion class that had more variety for RP.
@InquisitorAura8 жыл бұрын
dshire3 Ah, I see. Yes, they are really dark, but there is nothing saying you can't be a relatively happy Demon Hunter. How you choose to RP your character is up to you- you don't have to go the dark route. Sure, your history is likely dark, but some of the best people I've RPed with have been characters with dark pasts that have used the darkness inside of them as strength to do good in the world. The lore of the classes is there to help get you started- it doesn't have to define how your character sees himself.

How to Roleplay a Demonhunter: Don't.
@robbymystic38198 жыл бұрын
I don't get the stupidity of people like you on RP servers saying this... if anything you should welcome new material to RP instead of sitting in sw cathedral discussing the weather. DK's are RP'd and they were created to be evil and to act for the lich king. Demon Hunters were created to fight the greatest of all threats in wow. Just don't play a edge lord demon hunter with absolutely no well thought history, story and personality.

First of all. All demo hunters are edgelords. secondly that is a false assumption I'm a manager in an active RP guild based in IF. Thridly Lorewise they are bullshit and shoudln't exist. I don't care if you claim it's blizzard they do what they want. Blizzard nowadays don't know how to do any good lore compared to the good lore of the past. Warcraft-wotlk.
