My question from a while back, how would the 7.5 FK handle in an SMG, PDW or PCC? Something with a longer barrel. Would it be worth it? Maybe, maybe not, but it is a question. The 10mm has been in SMGs, but never really popular, same with the .40 S&W and most likely the 7.5 FK.

Yeah I feel like this cartridge ultimately makes the most sense for a handgun like this in the modern landscape. Any stronger and you have 5.56 and any weaker and focused on being more controllable and you already have a ton of other pistol cartridges.
@ostiariusalpha3 жыл бұрын
@@tommihommi1 The 5.56x45mm loses a lot of efficiency from very short barrels, typically anything under 12"; in fact, the 7.5 FK actually has more muzzle energy from a 10" barrel than 5.56mm does. The 7.5 FK's real competition from a short carbine would be the .300 BLK round. From an AR-15 style weapon, where the mag is in front of the trigger, the .300 BLK wins hands down. From a super compact PCC where the magwell is in the grip though, the 7.5 FK just makes a ton more sense.
@KyussTheWalkingWorm3 жыл бұрын
Pretty easy to tell it'd do well. Necked down 10mm (which is what the 7.5 FK is, for anyone less familiar) has long been notorious for having considerable muzzle blast and working well in 5 inch race guns with muzzle brakes, usually a pretty good indicator that there's gas pressure left to work with. The issue with larger pistol cartridges in SMGs/PCCs is that with traditional blowback SMG guts you're approaching rifle chambered carbine weight for something with a lot less muzzle velocity and worse external ballistics in general. In fact it's kinda telling that the only notorious SMG in 10mm is the MP5, a gun that's already a scaled down rifle and doesn't only rely on a heavy bolt.

Two when you take the guide rod out squeeze the guide rod and weight together to take them in and out at the same time. Makes that step really easy. And three when you take the barrel out push it out until it gets stuck, then pull the barrel backwards and it pops out really easy.

I kind of don't like how that diamond was reflecting off of the slide. I don't imagine that you'd ever confuse the sight picture, but maybe some anti glare serrations there could be a good idea?
@Jesses0013 жыл бұрын
I did notice the top of that slide is SUPER shinny. The fit and finish is clearly top notch, but for a more practical set-up, I think you are right about serrations on the top of the slide. They even already have a rib that would work perfectly for it.

Absolutely ASTOUNDING demonstration! Great video thanks! Got some WDK, (Wife Doesn't Know), money earned restoring old firearms for folks that will go towards a rig like that!

The low bore axis and low-mounted spring remind me of the Hudson H9, but I suspect that is a case of convergent evolution.
@ArikGST3 жыл бұрын
The Hudson kinda amalgamated some aspects of a bunch of guns including the CZ 75, so it makes sense they look similiar, since this BRNO is also based on the CZ 75.

As always, great review. Very interested in this firearm. Czech firearms definitely seem to be catching more fandom again which is refreshing with the quality of weapons they produce.

Hmmm, buy a WWSD rifle or this...? Definitely still the rifle someday but damn what a fantastic pistol.

Like an Automag III in .30 Carbine, except not ridiculous and actually quite good.

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far before someone mentioned that the 7.5 FK is on paper the same as a .30 Carbine.

My AMT was a flame thrower. The short barrel didn't get much velocity with ammo made for rifles.

Impressive, same as 9x25 dillon with same bullet weight and barrel length

The BRNO PSD really looks like Czechia's take on the pistol component of the 1990s trial to replace the 9x19mm; as a result, I'm curious at the parallels the BRNO PSD has with the FN Five-seveN.

I remember back in one of your older Q&A videos that you wouldn't be looking into 'cheap chinese pistol optics'. I'm impressed that the little holosun is good enough to make it onto your table, let alone the FK

I had purchased the Walther CCP M2 based on videos you made. I have not had any issues with it and I love that gun. After watching this, I am tempted once again, however I am torn. I also want a WWSD 2020 rifle. Keep up the good work!
