I’m in the process of a major theater overhaul that will include a Christie Eclipse going in. The area was surveyed last week, and I’ll be working with various teams to implement this bass array as part of the redesign. I already have an Altitude 32, many subs, and plan to add an Alcone 32”. I’m very excited to hear more about this new approach to bass - as well as feedback from people that’ve heard it. Great video BTW.

Sorry boys, 16 subs is OK for casual TV watching but if you want a serious "reference level" system you need a minimum of 24 subwoofer's preferably 16 inch PLUS. My uncle Ned, as you all know has 3 dedicated home theaters in his house and the small theater has 24" subs, the mid size home theater has 38 subwoofers. Now the large home theater has 64-24" custom made Wilson Audio subwoofers. Now everyone knows My Uncle Ned is a little but crazy, but he does make a good point that more subwoofers equal a more consistent approach to low end frequency.

With the technology from Trinnov with the new bass management the back 8 are actually cancelling out the standing waves and reducing the decay time to around 50ms which makes for less boomy and very impactful bass, however the back ones are really cancelling out the sound - its pretty crazy to experience.

@@BuildMontage Fascinating! He mentions doing the same thing but with fewer subs. Makes me wonder if in future we'll get systems with 2 front subs and 2 back subs in a room doing the same type of thing, and if it'll make doing room acoustics easier.
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
@@jeffjefferson7384 Yes in the next video I interview Arnaud Laborie who will explain it with more detail. The double bass array was simply the best way to demonstrate the technology in a show condition - but the plan is to do with far fewer subs - 3 in the front and 2 in the back kind of thing.

Although I am a home theatre enthusiast, I can’t help think this level of audio is going to the extreme as far as cost and viability, sure a system like this in a 10m home makes sense, but spending this type of money on an average home is insanity. I know this is near the peak of sound quality for home theatre, but you could spend many thousands less to get a shit kicking sound from other brands. Just my opinion of coarse.

This was a trade show, and it was to showcase a new technology so it was intentional to go big and make a bang. The idea behind this was that you could have this level of performance, but of course more people will not go to this exctent. It was really cool to experience I will say in person.

@12:52 - 13:00 what he is telling could any one elaborate?
@krixdotcom
@krixdotcom Жыл бұрын
Hi Singh - the MX-40 LCR's require 2 channels of amplification each, one for the low frequency, and one for the mid/high frequency (there's a passive crossover between these two). So somewhere in the chain, an active crossover is required to split the signal for the LF and MF/HF components. This can be done inside the Trinnov Altitude, so the front LCR speakers actually use 6 output channels. I hope this answers your question!
@Singh-pq7tk
@Singh-pq7tk Жыл бұрын
@@krixdotcom great thanks for ur info. But only trinnov have this feature or any alternative is there?
@krixdotcom
@krixdotcom Жыл бұрын
@@Singh-pq7tk there are other high end processors that can handle active crossover management. The functionality can also be found in some amplifiers, or you can use external signal processing devices. We'd recommend talking to your local supplier/installer to find the right equipment for your requirements.
@Singh-pq7tk
@Singh-pq7tk Жыл бұрын
@@krixdotcomthanks once again, for best home theatre experience we need 1)Av receivers - merges the audio & video 2)Processors with crossover - process the audio signals better. 3)Amplifiers - powers the speakers 4)Sets of sub woofers and speakers- 5) bluray player is there anything else required in terms of hardware which i missed above. Which brands of speakers and processors would u like to suggest.
@krixdotcom
@krixdotcom Жыл бұрын
@@Singh-pq7tk AV Receivers can generally handle video and audio processing as well as amplification. AV Processors handle the processing, but don't provide amplification, so the audio signal is handed off to a power amplifier. The speakers you choose will determine whether you need active crossovers. A projector/TV will be required for visuals, and a UHD, media player or streaming device. We'd recommend talking to an AV dealer near you to discuss your requirements. As we are the speaker manufacturer (shown in the video) we'd obviously recommend auditioning our speakers. We also partner with Trinnov Audio for digital audio processing.

nothing new with this room . not like i felt experienced x16 subs JBL 4645C for cinema use before ? Empire Leicester Square , 56kw THX , a bit toppy on the MF/HF horns to surrounds it was . original CIC Empire Leicester Square '89 JBL THX where the bass was hard core . have you experienced sensurround ? i have 5 times ! after that cinemas felt sounded the same before THX came along . THX at the 89 JBLTHX Empire was like sensurround only the bar was raised lot higher and was way better than sensurround . and this , trinnov32 thing ? i was 99.999% ready to drop £28k on one this week , but after 20 hrs i came to auto - common sense and closed the deal , didn't want it . i read the manual on trinnov32 now 6 times and it is so flawed . i wouldn't put a trinnov32 , into a dog cat recuse shelter as ex retried professional projectionist i wouldn't touch a trinnov32 , trinnov couldn't even give one to me for free all the subs bass and does any of those small krix do the same as i felt heard in professional THX cinemas ? i doubt i know what to look for , listen for and feel for
