I applaud reviewers like them for calling out a bad product instead of recommending it to their loyal subscribers and not being afraid of losing sponsorship. It seems like your giving a glowing review of the Thunderbeat system. Would you recommend the system to your viewers for the price that they are asking? The only thing that urks me, and a lot of expensive home theatres have this, is the 2.40:1 aspect screen. What happens when you watch something that has IMAX footage in 16:9, like The Dark Knight or Top Gun Maverick? Do you have pillarboxes on the side? then what happens when it switches from the 16:9 IMAX footage back to the 2.40:1 footage? Does it Pillarbox AND Letterbox the image? What about movies that are in taller aspect ratios like 1.85:1? TV Shows? Like I get that the 2.40:1 screen looks more high end and theatrical, but it just doesn't seem practical at all. But what the hell do I know, it's not my theatre room and not my money.

Please, please do a review on the Valerion ALR Screen, particularly on any artefacts (speckle, hotspot) and if it reduces the amount of light bouncing onto the walls etc. Do you already have some thoughts on these properties? The room that the visionmaster is going into will have light sources eliminated but still is very much a white box. With my current projector which I suspect is <500ansi lumens shining onto a white wall it lights up completely in a well lit scene. So I suspect the visionmaster will be unusable on the White Matte 1.3 gain screen I added to the order. Looking into swapping it to the 100" ALR but I'm not sure if this will help much or look a lot worse. I'm also worried about it being 1.8db as this paired with the vision master output makes me think maybe the ALR is a daytime only screen, genuinely worried it would damage my eyes. Unfortunately I can't put any blackout elements into the room. Again thank you for the review!

The projector has to operate at 100% laser level to use EBL, and that Fresnel ALR screen has a high gain I think. Was it harsh during bright scenes? The mario movie in particular looked blinding, and the desert scenes in.. mad max? were pretty bright too.

Dear Tony! The review is great. I have a question If I may. The throw distance in the room is 4 meters. The screen size is 215 centimeters diagonal. My question is: Can the projector zoom in with the Optical, not the digital zoom from this distance to match the small screen size? The PlayStation has a way better blu ray player, because Sony has a longer history of Physical media compared to Microsoft The Xbox, however, has a way better. Streaming apps like Netflix, Disney plus Paramount+ and max That's the one thing I will go for xbox over playstation due to its better Video steamer However, as for My physical media of Marvel and dc Michael bay Transformers movies discs I will go for PlayStation 5 over Xbox for that part. Because Sony is more known for physical media.

I have the 4K on my bed side table (best position I can have it)... Its fan is quiet enough to be near you and not too hot if you have brightness down (for night/bedroom viewing). Fan does ramp up abit when full brightness with abit more warmth, but its definately tollerable in my opinion. My favourite feature (which i didnt think of when buying this) is that it retains all your logins, so when you take it to a friends house, or on a holiday - plug it in, join wifi and you're ready to go. No logging into a Random TV at an Air BNB, setting up each app/login for friends/kids etc.. its tiny enough to easily pack up for car trip holidays. Plus HDMI to pluginto any game console or player that place may have. (Hope this helps anyone)

So is the picture good just with the added ALR screen by Valerion or is the picture good also on regular white projector screen? I have EliteScreen as a rollout from the ceiling. Would not want to swap that out.

I have the 1080p version of the cosmos laser and I love it! Although even if I had the 4k version of it that wouldn’t change the fact that I think the SE might be the better deal. Firstly it has google tv os not android so that’s an instant bonus, secondly it has a dual light source of laser and led, thirdly Dolby vision and two hdmi ports instead of one, but mostly I think it’s better because it doesn’t lose Bluetooth when switched over to hdmi. Said Bluetooth is only available on the original laser version when using the streaming dongle it came with, otherwise you have to use an independent Bluetooth device or just rely on the built-in speakers (which admittedly aren’t bad at all but I’m in a small space so I kind of prefer my audio to come from the front not behind. To make a long comment short I’d probably go for the SE if given the choice.

Hi and thanks for another informative review Tony! Question: When using EBL, did you ever notice any effects similar to dynamic iris light pumping or delayed contrast shifting? Or does the mode perform seamlessly/consistently, without you actually notice it activating/deactivating? I am curious since you mentioned that EBL uses an algorithm. Thanks!
