The Black Swan is a ballet. Have you ever heard the nursery rhyme " The Ugly Duckling"? The story of that nursery rhyme is what the black swan ballet is based on. But this song is about fear of losing their drive and passion for creating what they love. I'm very happy that you did this one. You can really see how diverse they are. There is a lot of meaning in this song. It's so good.

I have seen other people that react to BTS mv's watch the color coded lyrics mv first and then the official mv all in the same reaction. That way they can read the lyrics and then concentrate on the video. Just a thought. Black Swan was filmed at the Los Angeles Theatre. Did you notice when Jin looks away from the mirrors back at the camera his reflection doesn't change in the mirrors. Too cool I thought. LOL Btw...this song is in my top 5 fave BTS songs and it is my ringtone on my phone (via Zedge).

This video is based on a famous ballet called Swan Lake. To give you a short version, it's about a white/good swan and a black/evil swan. In many productions they are played by the same dancer. It's basically about the struggle with your inner shadow self. Great reaction, this bass is so amazing in this song. 😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

A black swan is an unpredicted or unexpected event, particularly one with extreme consequences. The bird swan typically is white. You notice shadows at several points as this is a piece of applied psychology from the theories of Karl Jung. The application is to the moment when an artist (or anyone for that matter) has something occur inside which causes a loss of passion for what had been a life's focus. The song is from an album called Map of the Soul 7 which has many songs discussing the ideas of Karl Jung within contexts. There is an explanation video for this song which is quite helpful if you are curious.

One thing that is talked about is 'the first death' which in this case refers to when a dancer no longer dances, or singer no longer sings, a musician no longer makes music or a writer no longer can write. So essentially when a person who is dependent on being creative loses their ability, passion, or the muse that drives or enables them to create.

A black swan event is a sudden, unexpected catastrophe. Note, they are no longer in white after the black swan event. I think it was their first death. They no longer have creativity in music and, at the end, have lost their identities as well.
