@@BloodOrangeSun his google search was very wrong. The first thing he talked about was the year insane clown posse formed, he was wrong. He claimed juggalos are considered a gang by a handful of states, ive seen no evidence of that. He made several derogatory comments about juggalos, all of course unsupported. I could go on and on.

@@TheFpCassini icp never “went Christian” and have never stated they belong to or believe in any religion as far as I’m aware. Their “joker card” series has always had the underlining message of god/heaven’s existence and the 6th jokers card that came out in 2002 blatantly said as much on the song “thy unveiling”. A very long time before the gang task force assessment list that included juggalos.

This is hilarious! Love this channel AND ICP, even though I'm well over the age of 26..and I feel the need to defend the fans and lyrical content. I don't fit that horrible description of people that are juggalos. Yes, the lyrics are pretty nasty, but they are playing parts within a play of sorts and in the end, all the evil people either change for the better or are punished. So their is morality there, just delivered in a bizarre manner. Johnny Cash often sang of death, murder and mayhem in his lyrics.

What is so funny is the Juggalos and Juggalettes I've met have been some pretty decent people. They have jobs, have fun, and have been very kind. They have a culture of acceptance and body positivity. See, these people have these personality traits but if you talk to them one on one a lot of them come from chaotic childhoods. They created a new family to cope. If I had to guess who would be most likely to be accepting and helpful between a group of Juggalos and Christians, I would find that a group of Juggalos would be the better choice. They are no different from people who like rap music that promotes sexual promiscuity, drug abuse, and violence. THey are no different than metalheads who love death metal that promotes horror and violence in their lyrics.

I'm a mom of two juggalos who should be ageing out of the trend. Let me say first ,both of my kids were learning disabled, and both had social anxieties, and depression befor becoming juggalos.when they met up with juggalos and I met them. I realised my kids were not being made fun of by them. They were treated as equals. We didn't have all the bells and whistles that other families had. Juggalos didn't care. And some of those juggalos were quite wealthy. These kids started hanging around my home. I learned a lot about each individual kid and as a group. They were all wonderful careing kids. This included the males as well as females. I trust those kids to this day. Not one was violent in any manor. And as adults they have turned into respectful. Productive people. Another thing I learned is that they have more morality in their little fingers than politicians and some. Very prominent people of this world. The new gereration juggalos are a different matter to me. I don't know them. I won't judge them on hear say. Hopefully. Their not violent idiots as society wants to portray them Whoop whoop 🤡

I knew of ICP from an older sibling, but I never cared for their "vibe". I had my first real boyfriend at 16, and after a while I learned what a Juggalo was and that he declared himself as one. He called other juggalos his "family", but got really protective whenever I was with him and he saw one in public. He would grab my hand and pull me behind him, fully stepping in front of me when another juggalo began looking at me. He mentioned that they passed around "juggalettes" which are what the women in the "family" called themselves. I was never apart of it, or any group in this fashion. He didn't want me to be, but I turned out to be too put together for him even though I was suffering from terrible depression during the three years we were together. Unsurpisingly, my exes toxic behavior fueled by toxic members of this group had him spiraling with drugs, violence, and anger that began to be directed towards me because he became paranoid that I would cheat. It certainly opened my eyes to a world I'd rather not know of.

@TheJCKain 3 жыл бұрын
There's a few things that I would like to bring to light. Before I do, I just wanted to say that I do appreciate your analysis and a lot of your thoughts here are spot on. However.... a few things bothered me greatly. I'll try not to make this too long explaining. ★ Try to look at ICP from the same perspective you would look at an old cheesy horror movie - in the form of music. It's not to be taken literally. It's a side show filled with goofy dark humor from 2 clowns trying to help you loosen up and laugh a bit. The overarching theme about living a good life and making it to Shangri-La is also there if you really want to find it. And sometimes the ones who need it actually do find it. ★ The anti-science take - Miracles was written with their children in mind. The inspiration for the science line being how their kids perceive the wonders of the world as so astounding.. they don't need the scientific explanation (yet) of why a lightning bug lights up, just let them appreciate it for the beautiful thing it is. ★ 2nd part - (not addressing gangs who call themselves juggalos.. because no actual juggalos are okay with that) ★ The Juggalos, as a whole, are certainly a group of misfits... lol but the beautiful thing that happened was through the music, everyone in that crowd ended up finding a sense of community. Everyone is super welcoming no matter what walk of life you come from. Are there bad actors within? - anyone can say they like a band and buy a ticket... so of course... but it's frowned upon and certainly not encouraged. ★ I'll share an experience to close this out. While waiting in line at an ICP concert when I was 15 (I'm over twice that age now) - it was freezing cold out - it was taking a while to open the doors to the venue - so, a few random juggalos bought trays of pizza and coffee and gave it out for free to as many people as possible. ★ The same concert, I was crowd surfing and ended up falling in the moshpit area... instead of being trampled, a few juggalos stopped to pick me up and make sure I was okay. That set the standard for me and pretty much sums up the whole package. I'm still a fan. It's definitely NOT for everyone.... understandably so. But I wanted to share my experience because I value your views and analysis on mental health. ★ And even though there's a lot I left out, I'm hoping this brings another perspective to the table. & Thank you again for reading.✌️🃏

If you look more into their personal lives, Violent J and Shaggy have lives that’re DRAMATICALLY different than their on-stage personas. Most Juggalos and Jugglettes (at least that I’ve met) aren’t crazy and deprived humans, they’re just normal people that get an extra sense of belonging from being part of the “family”, and that isn’t necessarily bad.

I love your work Dr. Grande and I think you did well here, but I do think you underemphasized the "family" element. I've noticed that many juggalos 1) come from bad home lives, and 2) are socially inept. Juggalos are therefore a group of people who otherwise suffer from a deep sense of anomie and isolation that is alleviated by their participation in the subculture, which emphasizes "family" and unity despite the violent messages in the songs. ICP and the music itself is somewhat secondary. In addition, although Juggalos commonly engage in illegal substance use or minor crimes, most Juggalos do not participate in violence or other grossly anti-social criminality. I don't think Juggalo-ism is about rebellion from society as much as about finding a "home" for people who are otherwise outcasts in the first place.

I mean no disrespect, I really enjoy these videos but videos like this prove you didn't do much research into this. I've done deep dives into many of the true crime cases you've covered over the years and you've missed very important information in many of them that could have opened you up to other possibilities that are being discussed in the true crime community and that I'm sure your audience would find interesting but you totally missed them. The more this happens the less I find myself watching your videos, which I've enjoyed for years, I used to never miss a video now I maybe watch one a week. Please consider doing less videos a week with a bit more research, I feel like a video a day doesn't allow you to get the facts needed to make a video that's a truly accurate picture of what's going on. I really enjoy your wit, humour and expertise, have a good day Dr Grande

Hey Dr. Grande, since you analyzed ICP, you could potentially look into the Farmville murders as well. This was a young man who bludgeoned/axed two young women and one set of their parents to death after being rejected romantically by one of them at a horrorcore music festival. It's the same subculture that ICP comes from. One popular documentary on here speculates that the perpetrator had ASPD but it was a little pop psychology-ish for my tastes. Thanks!

Yo Dr. G, I love your straightforward clinical analysis of these emergent phenomena in society and I hope you never change as your star continues to burn ever brighter. We need a capable public intellectual like you to bridge the gap between academic psychology and the lived experience of ordinary, curious minds everywhere. However, this is one where I think your style and approach misses the mark quite a bit. I have seen the same pitfalls in other videos but in none are they so evident as in this one; for example I think your five-factor analysis is not only waaay out on a limb and over-general but very well could be simply inaccurate beyond the point of usefulness. I could offer a competing analysis and will elaborate on request. The broad conclusions that you draw, namely, that the ICP fandom can be chalked up to frustrated-working-class-kids-rebelling/self-identifying-around-transgressive-art, is not at all wrong but also not particularly worth putting forward. It fails to tease out any significant insight about this particular subculture, its history, or its trajectory (the way an immersive ethnography might) and instead hangs up the whole conversation on an overused, divisive, and classist trope. What are the prior cultural influences on the macabre symbolism in these works? What is the connection between the formation of ICP, the popularity of horrorcore, and the deindustrialization of the Midwest during the 80's and 90's? You wouldn't know it from watching this video, you'd likely just guffaw and shake your head at the thought of what some dumb kids in Detroit are up to. Art, particularly working-class art, trafficks heavily in both symbolism and iconoclasm, honesty and contradiction, often presenting ideas for the sake of argument before rejecting them out of frustration. There are rich fields to plow here. I think it would help your growth to make an effort at being more conscious of your own class biases, to give ordinary human beings a little more credit and unjust power structures a little more blame. Do you read any ethnographies? I can point you to some good ones! P.S. I am not a Juggalo and only casually dig ICP. Their body of work does its job as entertaining hip-hop perfectly well, and I find it to be more interesting and compelling than top-40 radio much more often than not.
@Bookpilled
@Bookpilled 2 жыл бұрын
I think this is the big, salient characteristic of ICP's work that remains invisible to the culture at large. It's a fully class-conscious project. All the iconography, from the face paint to the Faygo, has some sort of wink-nod coding meant to be understood as class solidarity. Not that they're Marxists or something, but the whole point has always been that the upper classes see the poor as dangerous subhuman clowns and "fuck you" in response. So, how appropriate that critics have always taken them completely literally and treated them like criminals and simpletons.
