My favourite original art piece was most definitely the piece done by Alfonso Azpiri. I love the Amazing Fantasy 17 & FF1, but damn; that original Azpiri piece is priceless. Money wise, the FF & AF for sure, but if value wasn't paramount, the Azpiri piece is what I would pick from the entire video. Beautiful piece of art. Thx, to the both of you for sharing with us. Wow - I want that piece.

Nearly 45 minutes, a new record for Comics Den. It's not so much that Gambit is wearing a thong, it's that he's wearing it on the outside - now that I can never unremember. Amazing though all the comics are, we've seen them before on KZbin or maybe even in the flesh at sales and conventions. But the art! Pedro is spot-on, the uniqueness of each piece just makes you stop and think. And with some of the artists sadly gone those pages are, if possible, even more unique.

I hope his children appreciate their father. Imagine your dad leaving you an AF #15 and many other graded books as your inheritance. That doesn't even include life insurance, investments, and hard assets. These are graded so that means ALL of the hard work has been done. Not just raw copies sitting in a box somewhere.

Funny when people say the xmen are coming to the marvel universe when scarlet witch and quick silver are mutants that started in the xmen universe first and they were on the avengers movies already.

They changed them
@fedenciogonzalezjr905111 ай бұрын
@@turtleanton6539 Yes I know they changed them for the marvel universe movie's but I thought that was a stupid idea to do because we all know" well the comic book reading community know they are mutants and are son and daughter of magneto and if you are going to expand the marvel universe in the future with mutants and the xmen universe" then what do you do with Scarlett witch and quick silver now lol you just changed two main characters of the xmen universe at least Fox film's of the xmen made a connection to magneto and quick sliver. Now they are going to have to recast new characters to play magneto kids or changed the storyline who knows.

Stupid question. What kind of plastic bags are those that the slabs are in.... And why use those plastic bags? Protection from the sun? Dirt? New to the hobby
@Blacksheepcomics7 ай бұрын
There is no stupid question, bro! Here is a breakdown of types of bags! Those are called Mylar Bags. They are also made for raw (uncased comics). They are 1/50 the strength of steel. It is 350 TIMES MORE RESISTANT to the diffusion of gases like oxygen, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, etc. than poly bags. Mylar bags resistance to moisture, insect attack, fungus, mold, mildew, acid, oils, grease, and solvents is excellent. The negative is that they are around $1.00-$2.00 per bag, so they are expensive. The normal type that you see are poly bags which are great for a lot of comics, they are cheap in bulk and they protect the comic more than a normal plastic bags or zip locks and they also need to be changed every 7 years.

I only keep "Keys" ..... Is there any discussion in the hobby about what makes something a "key" I feel like too many people just recite dogma "first appearance of fukstik" and don't push back on accepted but questionable scripture. Just surprised that the same people who are into comics have such rigid rules. Doesn't anyone get tired of people feeling like they have to let everyone in the place know that they know the significance of this or that book, kind of a know it all that impresses nobody cause everybody does it. On Oahu in the 80's we had a casual dis.. ( maybe still, I wouldn't know) "What Bruh? trying?!" as in "you're trying too hard to impress". "It's obvious and a little cringey." Having said all that, this was a pretty interesting clip. Dude seemed cool but..easy to be cool to someone when they're helping you make money.

Those Spider-Man #1's are NOT rare. You should've seen the comic book stores when these came out. Each comic book store in my area had 100's of them. I bought five copies the day it hit shelves, then I ended up having 18 of them. In the factory plastic bags and the unbagged. I would imagine that everyone that has them are just sitting on them and the rest got lost as everything does.
@TheMisfits7783 Жыл бұрын
not the platinum, those are actually rare and there is 6 or 7 variants of SM1

Not sure where he got that Secret Wars 8 was supposed to be released before ASM 252. How you could release SW 8 before ASM 252 when SW 1 was released a week before ASM 252? And there's only one first appearance of the black costume, and that's ASM 252, which appeared on the stands before any of the other early appearances. It's amazing how collectors continuously mess up the first black costume appearances. Guess you had to actually be there at the time and buying these issues when they appeared on the stands to get the appearances straight.
