I have their stretch 2 in k390 (basically a pm2 with a back lock) and it is incredible. K390 sharpens easily and strops back so well!

I picked one up a few months ago and it quickly became my most carried edc. When they announced it was being discontinued, I ordered a second one to squirrel away just in case. Yeah, it's that amazing. I've used mine for everything you'd use any edc for and I've only stropped it once with diamond paste on latigo. It didn't need it but I was just curious how it'd respond. I added a LynchNW deep carry clip like I do with nearly all my knives. I recommend those too. I just got the matching Endela a few days ago and it feels even better in my hand than the Delica. If you can find a k390 Wharncliffe Endela, I highly recommend grabbing one - you'll love it.

I have the Endura in K390. It's a monster. It's black magic stuff. Sharpens easily on ceramics, but keeps an edge due to vanadium carbides 9%. By far my favorite knife. I've carried a Spyderco for 30 plus years.

I have the wharnie para 2, completely maxed out. Just bought this delica and I went with bronze scales with copper backspacer… I’ve had 3 of the wharnie delicas, all ended up customized and given to friends for trades and Xmas..

Just grabbed one today on a sale. Spyderco discontinued this model for 2024. About a year ago I decided to spring for a k390 model and went with the stretch 2 because I always wanted one but thought the price was a little high. Slap on k390 and I'm so glad I got it plus the changed blade shape makes it basically a seki city pm2. Spyderco has a killer heat treat for this steel. Once I saw it on the discontinued list I immediately started looking and kept coming to sites where it's already out of stock and eventually found one AND IT WAS ON SALE. Never had a proper wharncliffe either. I always see people talking on about how well they are for utility work.

@@doodysdaggers they're out of stock there now. Knivesplus had some earlier today for $89 which is regular price for a delica. I wasn't looking to get a new knife right now but spyderco forced my hand. Not that I'm complaining about it lol.

Received mine a few days ago. The edge came very inconsistent, lots of waving in the edge. Some parts even Dull! Needed a full sharpening to get most of the lower spots out. Still not fully out unfortunately. Didn’t wanna remove to much material with my diamond 220 grit. It’s a cutting machine for sure!!! Love the blade shape. Besides the edge flaws from factory I love it! Pretty easy to resharpen to on diamond stones

That’s weird! But I’ve gotten one or two wonky edges from Spyderco, it happens once in a while. Glad you like the knife! It’s one of my favorites for sure

Still a bunch of good ones, but Japan has put out a bunch of wonky edges lately. All the more reason to know how to sharpen. A good homemade edge will beat a factory edge every time.

I was hoping for a cut test video when I saw your unboxing video this morning. I knew it would do great. That’s why I try to keep one on me even though I may be carrying something else. The only time I don’t carry it is when my main knife is the para 2. Great video!

One of the PM2s I got has a warrencliff n it’s one of my favs.. been thinking about picking up one of their k390 blades as well and I’m strongly considering one of these bad boys as u can get them for a pretty good deal

Ain't it a shame the k390 Delica/Endela/Endura series (along with others) have been discontinued? My first k390 was the BBS Exclusive PM2, after getting that it was instantly my favorite steel.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Endura or the Endela I believe. Or even the Stretch 2 I’m not sure how thin the blades are on those, since I haven’t handled them. But as far as the quality of the k390 bladesteel, it would be exactly the same 🤠 Im very tempted to get one!!

Much better edge retention and, at least for me, it holds a finer edge MUCH longer than S30V. Nowhere near stainless though so it'll require more maintenance unless you want a patina (keep it dried off, oil it once in a while). It's one of my absolute favorite knife steels.

I'm generally not a huge Delica fan, I feel like they're generally overrated and a little overpriced for what you're getting... But man, THIS would be the knife to make me love a Delica. I think the sliciness of it and the blade shape make a lot of sense together, plus I like the color a lot. I think you've sold me on this thing! Just wish I had known about them back when they were $80 😅
