Hey FAT AZZ! 😂 Look man, if you make drawings be it photoshop, pen and paper, WHATEVER it is, you're a concept artist. Even if you skribble some stuff down and got the point across, that's a CONCEPT. Now when you begin talking about QUALITY and refinement, now you're stepping into the realm of ILLUSTRATION. That's the final poster design, the splash screen etc. So if you make doodles, IDEAS, you're a concept artist. Keep up the good work man. 💪❤

No, this guy is a real concept art with real basics and real understanding of concept art and design, Ross draws is just a excellent digital illustrator and he just draws the same thing over and over again, cute girls with color dodge and the same lame thing, where is Imad at least learned to do proper photo bashing so no you are completely wrong Ross draws master class for landscape was garbage and would pass for a environments 101 class one day 1 first hour ot 2nd hour at best, he solves no problems, creates no concept just a lame background with very loose brushwork and before you reply rudly to me, I will soon upload my works and you can see how much i know what i am talking about in concept art and my photo manipulation skills are not average but they are good, wherre as Ross draws is the same guy drawing cute girls and fan arts and gender bending art cause the guy cant come up with new stuff just girls in small clothes. Thank me later Imad

@@onism8836 yes and complexity of the scene along with composition, what the hell that guy Ross draw just cartoon babes with body parts exposed, he is not a artist, he is just a flavor of the week artist, Imad is atleast a real art who doesnt need to paint fan art or chicks to get views.

@@Honeyshouldwehomeschool No worries, remember; "If there's a shortcut then (almost) everyone's doing it" I was horrified to learn how much 3D art isn't hand crafted too when I was learning to 3D model. Look at Daz studio, it just churns out models for you and it is an industry standard application for concept art and beyond. And then there's SpeedTrees, everyone's "Cheating" to a degree, it's half the point of digital art over traditional art. Speed and efficiency. If the end result is amazing no-one cares how you got there, all that matters is you can prove you can create magic. My teacher worked for HUGE AAA companies and he photobashes and daz studios 90% of his work.

OMMMMMMFGGG... The clipping mask idea of painting it all black and then using the white to bring it back was such a good idea.. Been using photoshop since 1998, and I've NEVER done it that way.. I attend the accademy of fine arts and I have some professors who would use the word cheating to describe the way this work is produced, because in their opinion you have not created anything of your own and therefore it would only be a copy from other parts. I don't know how the concept artist's world works so I can't say anything about whether it's wrong or not. Personally, I think the work you've done is wonderful in many ways, like the time saving spent on creating it and the general quality of the work's details. I'd like to know what you think about the cheating topic about these kinds of illustrations.
@tinyvikingproductions5004 жыл бұрын
I’m also curious about this, But I would bring up the fact that concept art is often done for client work with deadlines. He talks about this in the video as well.
@ImadAwan4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for appreciating my work! :) About the cheating part, fine arts and concept art are two different fields. Fine artists can create anything they want for the world to see. It's about their personal "expression" and can justify their artwork even if it might seem bizarre to the common man's eye. There are no limitations there! Concept artists can't create just anything. They are more like designers who are meant to solve creative problems for films or games. They work under strict constraints and guidelines and bring ideas to life. Their artwork is not the end product, but just a necessary cog in the system to get the things working! So, no matter if they use photos, 3d or forbidden dark magic to conjure up an artwork; as long as it serves the purpose and solve design problems, it's all good and acceptable! Hope this helps! :)

He explains this at 5:06 in the video. Its all bout being able to work fast and produce multiple ideas to present to the client. They don't care how you do it, they just want it done. The world of Design and Concept Art is very different than the world of Fine Arts.

Hey imad, I love the perspective you bring to beginner art, really makes things easier for me. However, I've known about this technique for a while - what do you think about this for someone's who's starting to get into digital art? I don't think I will go into concept art, I just want to explore art as my passion. The way I see it, using photobashing is a lazy alternative that can kill your will to work on your pieces. That also leads to plagiarism in my opinion because I don't know if I will feel comfortable wanting credit on a work that is basically made up of other's photos just put together and masked and dodged and burned. I don't want to be offensive to anyone, and I understand how people need to cut some corners to work under deadlines, but what would you advise regarding this for a beginner getting into landscape art for their passion more than anything else?

This video it's so informative and his technique on producing such a high quality result is upsolutely stunning. However..... I have one friendly advice to give to those who are generally interested in digital painting. You should really not only watch this video but also the other videos in his channel. This man is not just good with photoshop he actually have ALL the fundamentals you need to be a great artist whether paper and pencil or digitally. I notice that often beginners they look at videos similar to this one as the "easy way out" and they might feel that you can actually skip any knowledge or skill related to sketching and painting. But then you see the massive difference of artists like Imad and those starting out. When it comes to perspective, lighting, colour etc etc if you have no clue about those topics you will definitely struggle. Even if you know all the tricks of the trade on photoshop or whichever other photo manipulation program, even a single rock in a composition will look totally out of place. You need both... Train on the foundations but also be smart and know all the tricks of the trade on photoshop or whatever so when you have to speed up you can.
