Just watched the whole vod. Never knew this game before and man, what a ride. Game seems genuinely awesome. It's strange, unique, interesting and I can tell a lot of heart was put into it. Some parts were great mix of sad and terrifying emotions. Mainly boss fights, especially the last two were incredible. The creativity in those was of the charts. It was a great experience watching this game. I wish they would release it on steam or something

This is one of the only horror games where I felt that the atmosphere really worked. The snow is beautiful, the forest looks lovely for the time, and the monsters are great body horror. The whole thing felt like, well, The Thing. Story is basically nonsensical, wanders off the rails, but the rest of it works very well. 15:00 - I've read enough Eastern erotica to know where this is going...

I wish Kenji decided to go in a slightly different direction with this. for all the cheesy and hokey stuff that happens, the set up at the start was absolutely brilliant. the atmosphere, the isolation, survival. and Parker's exposition about these mutants, hinting at possibly having to make some tough decisions, i really think they dropped the ball on that one. that would've been an awesome story mechanic, almost akin to John Carpenter's The Thing where you don't know who or what you can trust besides yourself. The game kind of devolved for me towards the end, but the first half is easily top 5 games period for me.

Ok as I understand it, according to the game the world kind of resets or fixes itself once it's fucked up enough to say hell no we can't go on like this, which is why they kinda show the dinosaurs getting recked (assuming they were a menace), and the same sort of happens in 1999 after all the shit that happens in the game, hence the difference in the numbers near the final credits, I remember seeing this concept somewhere else, idk if it was in a movie or book or another video game, but it is as close of a "reasonable" explanation as I can get.

This game really needs a GOG and Steam release for those who just want to download software and not mess with emulators (but Redream is a pretty awesome emulator). @San_The_Sly4 жыл бұрын
Took me a few days to get through this VOD, but I'm glad I did. This was super interesting, and I love the concept of the final boss. Not sure I fully understand everything that happened but this game was wild. Maybe the dinosaur theming is also to do with the fragility of existence and how we could all be wiped out in an instant, and to actively try to make the world a better place to live and not ruin the planet we live on?

I'm still not sure what the hell this company were thinking when they decided to make three games starring the exact same woman, call her a "digital actress", forget to actually do any acting in the game... and have her be a totally different character in all 3 games.
@JSwanKilowJ4 жыл бұрын
well remember this was off the heels of the mid-90s with a lot of interactive games that were essentially movies you controlled. I guess this was kind of Kenji Eno's take on the evolution of that concept. It's not the worst idea, it would give the character a lot of crossover appeal and we could've potentially seen her in all different types of games across all different platforms. just wasn't executed the best.
@Rocket1377 Жыл бұрын
It's not a bad idea in theory. Taking a well received character design and carrying that over between games. Capcom did something similar with Haunting Ground and Resident Evil, using the same face model for Jill Valentine and Fiona. Nintendo also did this with Punch Out, using Mario as the referee.

@@KhaoticSanctum69 Oh yeah, Resident Evil made me crap my pants too back in 1997 (dog through the window = ded) but now zombies and Tyrants are so blasé. Birkin's transformation in RE2 was a nice twist on things especially with the remake showing how he's still aware in there for a while and RE4's Las Plagas are creepy for that controlled-by-a-foreign-entity aspect (I can't be the only person who thinks the pokemon Paras and Parasect are really disturbing when you think about them being braindead husks controlled by parasitic fungi). Stuff like that is what's terrifying to me on an existential level, not being in control of yourself but still being aware.

Everything has its ups and downs, in these types of games, everything will be shown as a recollection of memories. You either choose to be happy, sad, resentful, loving, etc. but at the end of your choice, there's a price that needs to be addressed. You can't have them all, you're giving up all of these remaining choices for the next random person to choose. It’s nice to see that Laura has these memories. Even though the other half(David) forgets everything(rebirth), the other one must re:remember, this is a blessing and a curse.

This is the 3rd game in a trilogy. Enemy Zero is the second, also staring Laura (unrelated and in a different setting just like the first D). D2 put a toll on his company Warp and they rebranded but eventually disbanded. Warp didn't come out with another game until 10 years after this. A simple little puzzle game (but a good one) for the Wii. Kenji Eno was an interesting and talented person, too bad he is no longer with us (only 42 years old!).

I once streamed this game to someone over Skype and he couldn't stop laughing when Jannie melted. I doubt that's the reaction Kenji Eno (rest in peace) wanted from any part of his horror game. Or maybe he did, he DID choose those splorchy sound effects... Laura isn't Warp's only "digital actor", David, Kimberly and Parker were all in Enemy Zero too. And David might've been the dad in D, I'm not sure. Also god I hate Kimberly, like 90% of the reason Laura's a silent protagonist is probably because she can't get a word in edgewise around Kimberly.
