When I was young they use to say you were not a true car lover until you had owned an Italian sports car. Thankfully, I owned a Lancia Beta 2.0 Coupe for several years and absolutely loved it. Now, with a market saturated in small capacity turbos and hybrid engines, I think we should redefine a car lover as someone who owns a bonkers V8 and shamelessly enjoys every second of it. Which is why I now own an S5 V8. It's not a question of how fast it is (many turbo set ups are quicker), it is a statement to eco warriors and pearl-clutchers that they can't squeeze all the fun out of life.

I did a muffler delete on my TT and it sounds SO MUCH BETTER. You are right Mat, downshifting becomes fun. Getting onto a highway becomes fun. Running up through the RPMs is amazing.

The power loss is the only thing annoying me about the whole project, I could handle it being 30 or so less bhp but 230 when its supposed to be pushing 350 is scandalous. Hope he gets that sorted then the car will be top!

I have an 03 S6 (C5) Avant with the NA 4.2 V8 which I bought 90% for the sound and I love it! Can't get enough of tunnels, might need to get the back boxes off because this sounds unreal!

Cars like this stock go for like 15K nothing that impressive, he is only 20K or so into this car. anyone can afford this. wish i would be able to mod my cars my self tho would save me alot of money.... fyi i own a 2009 with 150k km's bought it for 15.5K also did RS bumper kit on it, how ever i had it done... mine isnt wrapped and doesnt have an exhaust tho im also about 20K into the car. DYI is the way to go sadly im an idiot when it comes to stuff like that. MAD resepct to Mat!

I’ve just put a custom exhaust on mine. Complete resonator delete, x pipe but I’ve kept rear silencers, although not the standard ones, damn it sounds good, it’s gone up in pitch, almost Italian V8 although it sounds brutal above 6k. Downside is it a bit boomy around town, although I’m killing that with a bit of sound deadening. Performance wise, doubt I’ve gained any horsepower but it definitely seems to rev more freely. One plus it’s way cheaper than the off the shelf exhausts, even miltek.
