I have a custom made 2015 4Matic S 550 with a Certificate from the factory. It has the automatic high beams that go down automatically when another car is approaching from the opposite direction and also prevents the high beam from hitting the rear view mirror of the driver in front of you. I am not sure why you said that in the USA it is not allowed to have this feature. Answers to some youtube questions : 1-The night vision is optional and you can switch it on and off. The cluster changes automatically when it detects an animal or a person on the road while driving in the dark. 2-The car has 92 computers 3- The "between the lines" feature not always works ( you cannot depend on it, you must keep your hands on the steering whee) 4- The automatic braking assist sometimes does not stop the car while another car is stopped at a stop light, but it gives you a beeping warning. However, it slows the car down to zero while in traffic and another car stops suddenly in front of you. 5-The " B " oil and filters change is not cheap. I just did it by the dealer and I paid $ 773.60 ( I am not complaining) 6-The " Run-Flat " tires need to be changed every 10-15 thousands miles maximum at a price of 460.00 per tire. ( This is not told by the dealer when he sells you the car) 7-The car is excellent in traffic, it stops and starts automatically that you do not have to hold the steering , push the gas or the brakes. It does it automatically and you can enjoy a conversation with the other passengers with no worry). The park assist is excellent especially at night. 8-If you get tired the car senses your alertness and gives a beep and the steering wheel jerks to wake you up. A cop of coffee appears on the cluster and asks you to stop for a break. This saved my life couple of times. 9-The wipers have LASER holes for the windshields fluid and does not splash the drivers behind you. 10- The " change lines" blind spot triangle in the mirrors can save you from deadly accidents.

I own a 2015 S550, which I purchased used with 15,000 miles, from a used car dealership in Houston. After watching your video, I learned that this vehicle came with headphones, but mine didn't have them. Something the previous owner or dealer kept. Nice to know. Your presentation was great. I have subscribed to your channel. Nothing about this vehicle disappoints me. I've had over 60 vehicles and this one is definitely the best I've ever had. Would you say your 2015 S Class is as reliable as a Lexus LS? I am currently shopping for one but am worried about reliability. I also need to find out if it has full speed emergency breaking like the current Lexus LS has. Thanks.

@@Nightbird. Mercedes does not have the best reported reliability. But so far, my car, the S550 has been flawless. No warranty or otther work on any major component. I had the overhead console glasses holder replaced several years ago when it broke. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. I have 33,000 miles on it as of today. The one thing about the 2005 model that I don't care for is that it does NOT have Apple Carplay. Something I use regularly in my other vehicles. I have not found an upgrade for this item. If I were you and you can afford it, I'd chose a 2017 or newer unit.

@@chrisUSA Thanks for that info. I've been driving older MB W126 S Classes for a few decades now (along with Lincolns)..as I prefer their simplicity, reliability, and low-cost repairs. But the W126 just can't compare when it comes to safety and convenience features of the newer S Classes. Can you please tell me if your 2015 S Class has emergency breaking as a standard safety feature? People in my area drive very recklessly and are always breaking hard in front of you so this is the most important safety feature I am looking for in an S Class to protect my family. Also..any particular reason why you feel the 2017 model is better than your 2015? Thanks.

@@Nightbird. The only reason I recommend a 2017 or newer is because of the upgrades in the electronics and stereo. You get Apple Carplay with the 2017's. The engine is the same and it is silkie smooth and powerful. I have the 4.7 twin turbo V-8.

With the S series being so technologically advanced, having so many comfort features, and a variety of powerful engines to choose from, I don't see anyone with a right mind being compelled to get the Maybach S 600 Pullman.

Jonnie, That's easy. The S550 hands down. The Tesla actually lacks alot of the tech found in the S550 and the Tesla is considerably less comfortable.

Interesting POV. To me, it seems MB just piles on a ton of stuff just because they can...not that anybody actually wants or uses much of it. However, I'm sure it's super comfortable. Just curious, there in Silicon Valley what do you see more of?

Amazing luxury, but imagine how much that all cost to fix when, not if, it all starts failing. It's no wonder these cars have such terrible residual values after a few years. In just a few years, the repairs will start costing more than the car's worth.

What would you get for outright comfort and luxury for 4 adults on long trips. The S class, new BMW 7 series, or a used Bently? We're looking for a rolling living room and don't care about driving enjoyment or how fast it goes around a track. Also, reliability and safety are extremely important

As I have already driven this car with the Intelligent Light System, I can tell that it isn't worth paying for it as an option, at least not yet. It's slow to react and has low accuracy of detecting oncoming cars. It often blinds out the road where you want to see and shoot the high beam to the other drivers eyes.

You can't afford to maintain a luxury German vehicle. And I can respect that too. But just like it costs money to marry a Supermodel..eat at the best restaurants..drink the best wines..and drive the best sports cars..it also costs money to drive the best luxury sedans. But spending that money on maintenance doesn't mean the product itself is bad. I'd rather marry a beautiful woman that spends money to maintain her looks..than marry an ugly one that spends a few dollars on Olay lotion and calls it a day. The choice is yours my friend. PS: If you want an Asian luxury vehicle for less repair costs..which is a fine motive..at least get the best there is..and that's a Lexus..and not a POS Kia that devaluates faster than an old hooker in a college town..lol.
