Sometimes tough days lead to new spots, and puddles loaded with spillway dongs... That's exactly what happened this day. After 5 ish spots, a lot of sweat, and 0 ish tears we stumbled across the MOTHER LOAD. PAAA POWWW!!!

Believe it or not,bumps are caused by goose or duck crap in the water! Totally harmless if you eat it,when you skin the fish the bumps stay attached to the skin ..

I feel the 5 hours of nothing, fished hard for smallmouth for 5 hours said screw it ill take the first skunk in 4 years , threw out a single hook with some powerbait and said ill give it till this Gatorades gone, fish it as i finished it, 2lb speckled trout bud saved me from the skunk

It's a form bacteria that is present in all channel cats and the bumps show up when they are in really warm water. They are okay to eat as log as you cook the fish properly.

Apparently the spots on catfish is a chronic infection by a common bacteria. Happens less commonly in northern waters, but can be on as many 1 in 9 fish in the middle southern Mississippi basin.
