I was so hype for this album.. and the sheer uniqueness blew me away. More than a few heavy songs, more than a few surprises, it's fuckin awesome. WHY COULDNT IT BE MORE THAN 10 SONGS haha

Hey, I know this is a long shot and it's more than likely that you won't check them out but my friend has a band called Stepson, and they're really good, not the heaviest band around but their music is so good. They signed to SharpTone Records not that long ago and are about to release their first album tomorrow (Friday, as I'm in Australia), and they're definitely worth checking out in my opinion.

This album is so good. Each song brings something new to the table. Only complaint i have with album is its too short, but that is its charm. aoty contender for me.

Speaking of genre mashing, you need to check out the album The Oubliette by The Reticent - or at least P L E A S E react to the song Stage 2: The Captive. It's an insane prog metal album all about Alzheimer's disease and has prog metal, rock, jazz, black metal, doom, symphonic, etc. Would love to see you react to that album/song just because it is so off the beaten path.
