The issue with the signed guitars, is you can't play them. You'll wear off the signature, where a lot of the value is. And for sure, if I had a EVH guitar, that was Stage Played, I'd want to play it, I would Definitely play it... But then again, I aint got $100K for a guitar in the first place... Cool video.

Hi Marty !! Yep it’s getting really ridiculous on the prices ! I bought Squire Tele for $400.00 and modded the hell out of it with bigger pots , Brad Paisley pup, brass compensated saddles, thermometer case ,locking tuners, strap locks 😂 I think that’s it 😊 And I have a Gibson R8 VOS finish ,and modded that too, I relic my LP on my own!! 😜

The EVH Art Series guitars were hand stripped (taped) by Eddie and then sent to the factory to be painted. Then the guitars were returned to Eddie, played once and put up for auction on Ebay. They all started with an initial bid of $5,150, but most sold for about 20k.

The most expensive guitar I have is the Fender Custom Shop Frankenstein from 2007. It is a really amazing guitar, but the current prices on it are just out of this world. 🤘🎩

I did like the "Rare" Peavey Wolfgang, because it reminds me of Van Halen /Josephina Live Japanese TV show. The Wolfgang on that video had a different bridge and string through. As far as those very high end acoustic guitars I appreciate the art and craftsmanship but I look at it like art and not a guitar that you can play.

The Fender made in Mexico version of the Joe Strummer Tele is pretty good value compared to the custom shop version. All the Made in Mexico versions of EVH guitars are similarly good value and you can pick up good deals on these when guitar shops have sales. Similarly you can get good deals on new and second hand Les Pauls, SGs, and Murphy Labs but you just have to wait.

I have a Sterling AX40 and it seems kind of heavy. Its supposed to be the same wood as an Axis and EBMM EVH. Were those guitars heavy as well?

I just need a guitar that plays good, with a nice neck and good fretwork. I can always swap pickups. That's why I like LTDs. Even my LTD Viper 256 plays as well as any Gibson I've owned in the past, and I've owned several. That guitar only costed $250 bucks when I bought it. The prices have doubled since, and they're still worth it I even bought 3 more of them since. And if I break one at a gig, I'm not out thousands of dollars.

The day I grew up and realized those crazy expensive guitars don’t do anything different than a 200 dollar guitar, I stopped going out and buying new ones. So far I’ve got 7, used to have 9. And tho the number went down I’ve got some pretty decent pieces that do what I tell them. I don’t know who buys these guitars thatre as much as a house. I wouldn’t even buy a car for 100,000 from factory. Unless those guitars instantly improve my skills then it’s not worth it

Haha… I worked at Dr.Music where Ed shopped .Right after Grover made Ed’s “Bumblebee” for some insane reason he sold one of them to Dr Music.One of my students bought it for $600…….. after a few years he re painted it.I’m sure it would be well into 6 figures he’ll maybe 7!If I’d only known Ed would be the most famous rock guitar player in the world I would have bought all of his crap gear!!! Oh well

I play build I collect the most expensive guitar I own cost me 2000 thousand dollars if you're well off more power to you ,there are a lot of guitar snobs and feel that those prices justified there are some great budget guitars out there that are great guitars.the most I would spend on a guitar is no more than $1500.00

I doubt it has much to do with impressing people. Most of these guitars are never seen by the public. If someone has a high net worth and wants a rare guitar, he or she is most likely buying it for his/her own enjoyment, provenance and appreciation for the time/skill that went into building the instrument. The collectible market does not equal the mainstream market.

Most people buying are collectors and investors, not actual players. Real artists don’t pay these prices, they sell for those prices. A real musician doesn’t need a $100k guitar anyway. EVH built his own for $250! Sellers everywhere are gouging and nobody should pay these ridiculous prices.
