You two would have made Huell Howser happy with your story. Excellent job chronicling a piece of California Gold.

Love this format - the best part about riding is the experience and this kind of content adds to that tremendously. May this new series be a huge growth area on your channel and give you lots of excuses to travel more.

I love old roads! History, natural beauty, low-or-no traffic, and gravel!

You guys just made me incredibly happy! My mom grew up in LA in the 1930s and took me on this route in the 80s in our old Ford. I remember how steep it was and how we had to keep putting water in the radiator. It felt so remote and historical. Never saw a single car, so if we'd broken down (way before cell phones)... Impressive that you biked it! Brought back lots of great memories, thanks!

No trees but the vegetation looks like Woody gasoline. Great history. It would be interesting to follow the track to its northern connections. This is another add to your channel.

I just found your channel and I like it. Back in the mid 1980s I had a Honda XL 250, and it took all of its off-road capability to traverse that road. I'm glad to see the power company is fixing things up.

Love the video, I've always been fascinated with the Ridge Route. In the late 80's I used to ride my mountain bike from the end of Templin Hwy (eastbound) on Fish Canyon Road to an old campground (Cienaga) way back in there.

Great Video Russ and Laura! My friend Joshua and I rode it years ago as part of the Yonder Journal Brovet. We started at Golden Saddle Cyclery. Sadly most of the Ridge Route was ridden in the dark so we didn’t get the amazing views you two got.

One of the best things a couple can do is explore together. This road was one of the adventures I was able to share with the love of my life, so to see you two explore it brings back fond memories. History, views, and time shared on a path less pedaled, what more could one ask for.
