Sometimes when watching these lawnmowing videos I find myself a little confused by how cleanly cut the boundaries between yards are. When I was growing up it was really common for us and our neighbors to overlap the mowing. If someone's yard got overgrown there would be a fade into the next yard as a result, and even that wouldn't last too long because someone would mow the lawn if the owner couldn't. Seeing those stark differences in height on the edge make me feel like neighbors now are extra careful in case they might accidentally help, and it makes me sad.

Here, the current standard is 5 ft from house to property line and 15 ft from front/back of house to sidewalk/back property line. The idea is to make housing denser. I've lucked out in that my lot is 110 ft deep.

This did happen to my team and I a week ago. We picked up another new client because their son is going to college usually he does the mowing but now they hired me and my employees to do the work for them. The edges in the walkways were the tricky part to clean them up. But here in this video I was like damn that really needs a ton of help. Turned out magnificent after you got it done

Needs to be painted, a light color, like white and darker shutter color. After a major pressure washing of house and sidewalks. Then floor boxes, fresh flowers, landscaping, a new roof possibly and a storm door.

everyone has their own system, but it really just depends on the situation

I edge last. If I edge first the wheel of the mower presses on the edge and messes up the sharp look. However, a cleanup like this, you edge first and throw the stuff in the yard and mow it or you can do what they did; pick it up.

Oh boy, if someone actually lives in the house, I am surprised the owners/renters would let it get that over grown in the first place. Better to pay less for regular mowing than let it become a lot more expensive to clean up. As tall as some of those weeds were, it was more than a few weeks since something was done to that yard. Good job...at least the home looks lived in now.

I agree with Chauncey Pullman about the neighbour to the left of the house that when he’s mowing his yard why does he just mow the little bit of grass that is in between the two houses that way it makes his please look a bit better than having a jungle next door. I’m sure that the grass is only like a mowers width to mow.

How long did it take you to finish this? It was a lot of edging but turned out great. I'm curious why the owner doesn't sell this home as-is to a flipper. There are KZbinrs from Texas called Austin Flippers. It would be nice to see them come to Houston to flip this one and do a collaboration with you.

one thing is odd to me. this is a make ready on a 5(meaning how well they take care of their yard) dollar yard. why not pull out your cheap mower to put on a make ready and then once you learn the yard and realize what all is sticking up in the yard and they become a regular customer then put your more expensive equipment on the yard.

I have a question. On a lawn like this. If it is over grown like this one was. Does the first service cost a little more cause of it being over grown and then it can go to a weekly at the regular service fee that your charge, also bi weekly if thats what customer wants but I understand Bi weekly will cost some more than just weekly. I was curious though about how some handle the first over grown cut and clean up of a property. Nice work and video.
