My ex-husband and I moved into a place together 2 years ago, when I was listing what I was taking with me (aka things I bought in full) I realised it was easier to list what I wasn’t: - Coffee table - Bedside table - Spare single bed which came with the house That’s it. Everything else including the white goods belonged to me. That’s when he learnt that £5,000 was what I spent on all the stuff inside the house, it was a rude awakening for him 😅
@JasminMiettunen9 ай бұрын
I'm not married or even close but wouldn’t it make sense to go halfsies on the furniture you buy for your house together? Or did you bring everything from your own apartment you'd bought previously?
@oliverholmes-gunning53728 ай бұрын
white goods aside (and maybe swap out the bedside table for a small sofa or armchair), tbh I could easily live like that. I think most guys could, really. Honestly unless one owns the house and is renovating it as an investment with a plan to sell in the future, I can't see the point in wasting money on any more furniture items than that (ok maybe a small trunk to keep clothes in, but that's it).

Naaahhh, creative people would make a lot by themselves to make the flat look more aesthetic. Of course, many people would buy nice stuff if they had the money, I get your point. But if having little money is the only reason your flat looks boring, there's something wrong with these men.

1:25 Coming from a person who shares her living space with a rabbit, having rabbits inside doesn't necessarily mean the place will stink. If the rabbits (especially the males) are neutered, you clean their enclosures every day and they are taught to use a toilet (I can see the toilets in the video), the place is most likely going to only smell like hay, since these little buggers are required to eat a lot of it every day, lol. However, I have to say that the enclosures in the video seem to be terribly small for a permanent living space for a rabbit.

Rabbits are not smelly animals. Yes their pee smells, but in the wild they use specific toileting areas, so it's easy to train your rabbits to go in a litter box and use odour-absorbing litter. Then just regularly clean out as needed.

Oh the glory days of bare necessities and grime
@oliverholmes-gunning53728 ай бұрын
I just moved into a mate's flat for a while, and for real, I have no idea why people make such a fuss about things like that. As long as the surfaces are wiped down, last night's takeaway wrappers and beer cans are got rid of every morning, the bins are taken out regular and everyone cleans up their own mess in the bathroom and kitchen there's really nothing else to worry about. So the kitchen cabinet looks like it's been chewed on by rabid monkeys, there's grey tide marks in the bath, we own one plate and mug each (we're not THAT poor lol, we just both really hate washing up) and my bed is a foldout sofa in the spare room that still contains some ventilation apparatus from the old indoor weed plantation that used to occupy the space? Oh no, how will I possibly survive without my Habitat sofa throw and Ikea coffee table???? (In fairness, I'm in my 20s. I can see myself wanting a bit more luxury than that when I'm like 50, but for now bring on the bare necessities and grime lol).
