NOT STUPID IDEA: A drawback I noticed with this farm is that you manually have to bring the mobs (creepers are relevant) to the overworld to charge the creepers. A thunderstorm in minecraft occurs on average every 9 IRL hours. A lot of people will go AFK instead of waiting in front of their computer. It is however rare to be on your screen whenever a thunderstorm occurs. You could hear the thunder if you are on your computer doing something else, but if you go elsewhere you can'y hear it. This can easily result in a thunder storm passing by without you noticing. SOLUTION: Make a system that does this: when a lighting strikes on the rod the player gets dropped downwards and the mobs are called. (Player dropped to prevent the mobs from slowly despawning) When lighting strikes again (which is very likely in the same thunderstorm) all the creeper will be charged. If you return then, even after another hour, back to your computer you have charged creepers. HOW EXACTLY: Instead of a block covering the lighting rod (to prevent further damage to the creeper which could kill them if repeated) the first strike, make it cover the rod the second time (they will survive a second time if needed). As a counter you could do this: Make a dropper facing a hopper, with the hopper facing the face of the dropper. Have a redstone block next to the hopper to lock it. (On the sides or below, above would quasi-power the dropper). The hook the lighting rod up to the dropper, which has two items in it. When lightning has struck 2 times the dropper will be empty, which can be detected by a comparator. As a reset button you would press a button, which with the help of a sticky piston moves the redstone block away from the dropper for at least nine GAME ticks. (A stone button, which provides a redstone signal of 10 GAME ticks, should be perfect) (I tested it with carpet mod "tick freeze" and then "tick step 9", nine game ticks is enough, remember just to unfreeze the game to let the hopper finish it's 8 game tick cooldown from the second item. If you don't unfreeze the game then the second time you test if 9 game ticks is enough, there won't be enough time.) The signal from the dropper emptying (due to the second lightning strike) could be carried upwards, to the AFK-spot with a wall tower. (This simplifies building because you can lava-cast 2 cobblestone pillars 1 block apart and then tower between them ONLY 1 time with walls) The glass underneath the player gets pulled by a sticky piston for a moment for the player to fall down. (Onto powdered snow with carpet, or even cheaper, a waterlogged block. Chests work great because you don't sink much in them, because they are ALMOST a full block) The player will be still safe from phantoms because high above him the glass roof from the AFK-spot will still be there. (Yes, the block to prevent phantoms does NOT need to be directly above his head, there can be a gap between) EXTRA: Make an lever for called "automatically start mob head farming" (something like that or something similar). Which does this: When the player drops down AND the mode is activated... (This only works if you make the player drop onto the trapdoor with wall on it. For fall damage prevention waterlog the wall, and surround it from 3 side with signs to prevent the water from flowing out, the last side already has glass. You will have to move the AFK-spot directly above where the player stands to detonate the creepers, and already have the player aligned to another wall on the AFK-spot so he when drops down he is already standing against the wall) ...mobs automatically start flowing in to the killing chamber to be exploded, while the real player may still be AFK. This would require a beacon. (Unless the player holds down his shield IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION when he is still at the upper AFK-spot) The reason why this should be a toggle and not a standard feature is because a lot of player (especially hardcore player) may not want charged creepers already start exploding next to them without them physically by their computer and having activated it manually. FINAL THINGS: Thank you for reading this entire thing (and wasting time). I hope I gave you some ideas on how to make these changes instead of just giving you the problem. The changes could be in your tutorial video (if you make one) just like with your gold farm, which has the shulker box unloader/crafting station only in the tutorial video. I hope you consider these changes for the next version and that I didn't destroy your happy feeling about this project being done within the first 24 hours of the video being out. After all it is a awesome farm even without these changes (probably the BEST mob head farm known)!!!!!

You bring the mobs into the overworld before the thunderstorm. Then, you can choose to leave the farm through the nether. When a thunderstorm happens, you come back to the farm through the nether and charge the creepers. Alternatively, you can wait there at the farm. When a thunderstorm happens, lightning will charge the creepers and the lightning rod is disabled. Those changes are not needed, as they will add to the farm building cost. You can make your own custom version of this farm if you want with the added features.

Wow man, awesome farm. Can I ask why the creepers blow up only 1 mob at a time?

Do you have any advice for the portal linking? I can get a few of them but never all of them before some of them cross link.

@Phazer255 ай бұрын
hey fortun8, in the WDL one portal says to align it with the "blue wool" but i can't find any, so far i havent been able to link the portals correctly. is there a certain method to this part, or just alignment?
@fortun8diamond5 ай бұрын
Hmmm,let me check. The blue wool might be missing. However,you do not actually need to build the blue wool,only use it to align the overworld placement with it.
@Phazer255 ай бұрын
@@fortun8diamond yep, the alignment is really what i need. currently the best i got was copying the vertical alignment from the test world into my main world, but the horizontal alignment did not work when matching up the center of the creeper input portal between overworld and nether.

There is no point building this farm on bedrock since one charged creeper can get you the 1000+ mob heads

Even if you couldn’t just use 1 creeper for a bajillion mob heads on bedrock, lazy chunks and chunk loaders don’t exist so this still wouldn’t work
