*On this album they did an amazing job. Based on the psychoanalyst Carl Jung.* *BTS in this album takes "a journey" into his consciousness, to recognize and accept all parts of himself Including the darkest ones.* According to Jung, the archetypes are very important for the realization of this goal. *The archetype PERSONA, SHADOW and EGO.* *So BTS has songs titled in the same way on this album.* For example, the *SHADOW* archetype is the dark part that we repress *(song by Suga)* the archetype *PERSONA (Song by RM)* is the personality that one individual projects to another, that is, how we present ourselves to the world. And finally *JHOPE sings EGO* (another archetype: it refers to the psychic instance that encompasses a set of ideas, feelings and perceptions of a conscious type and with which we identify ourselves.) *It's more complex than this, but I wanted to put them in context to understand the concept of the album and their songs, they are amazing songwriters / producers*

This song is a conversation back and forth between Suga and his Shadow, as shown by him wearing white and black. When the shadows chasing him catch the White Suga, he's overtaken by his shadow and his clothes become black. That's also when the song changes and he starts taking about how the two are one and can not be separated. That's the shadow talking. Suga is afraid of fame and all that comes with it because he's afraid of the fall. After all, when you reach the top, there's no where to go but down. He is confronting both his shadows and those fears in this song. The camera flashes in his face and the people looking at him through their cell phone cameras, that's how he sees the fans. They're always looking at him through their phone cameras, not with their eyes.

No it not from same album.. Boy meet with evils by jhop is intro MV to there 2016 album "wings" concept about how youths start to entre adult world facing different struggles dealing with temptation and growth (inspired by Demian novel from Hermann Hessen) ....while this one is shadow by suga is MV intro for Thiers 2019-2020 album "map of soul :7" it about Thiers journey as person and artist in those 7 years of career it have also deep message since it about psychological concept from "map of soul " book by Carl Jung...you get little bit the idea of MV butI highly suggest you to watch shadow MV explained videos by dkdktv..also do check full studio version of song since it more longer it have more verse lyrics in it -advice for you guys in my POV if you want to appreciate and explore better bts music discography do listen to their whole album with each song in order cause their albums are composed from several parts connected with each others with important concepts like a well-written novel having introduction, development, twists, and conclusion it shared a compelling story with a lots of meaningful messages

This trailer follows BTS storyline based on Carl Jung’s theories of psychology of the “individual”; they explore three main sides of the human psyche- the Persona, Shadow and Ego. Persona was explored with the intro rap on the album from RM. This song is introspective as what’s perceived by Suga’s journey to the top. Suga starts the song speaking from the perspective of what he wanted when he started his career (notice he wears light colors, then it switches to 2 versions of himself-his clothes switch to darker colors that represent his shadow). Then Suga meets his shadow once he gets the fame at the top, he had to face the dark sides of Fame that’s why he says ‘don’t let me fly’ because as much as he aims for success he’s afraid of all the problems and issues that can come with success too that can affect oneself. Then he comes to an understanding with his shadow that they are “one” as he grapples with the fear that comes with this fame and success. The final flow switch at the end is from his shadow’s perspective that’s why it’s distorted and so chaotic!

Yay! I'm so glad you watched this one! Hands down, this is my favorite Suga song. It's so raw and beautiful and vulnerable. Plus, can we talk about his singing?! Holy shit! It really feels like he's revealing himself to us, and I find it incredibly courageous and precious (in the literal sense, not in a facetious way). I also love the idea that he presents, that the closer you get to the source of light, the larger your shadow grows. It's a scientific fact, and is one that a lot of hopeful artists don't really think about when they're young and chasing their dream. I just love the way his mind works. Also, if you wanna delve deeper into the MV itself, xCeleste has a really good explanation video on this.

OHHH....one day before his birthday. this is the struggle between the two parts of yoongi, one afraid of his success and one afraid of losing it. The song, was based on the Swiss Carl Jung Psychology. Grammys performance "Dynamite" will come next week. "What Yoongi wants, Yoongi gets."

Boy Meets Evil isn't on Map of the Soul 7 but on Wings and was that album's intro song. Title track of that album is Blood, Sweat & Tears. Wings is from 2016 and Mots7 came out last year 😉 Title track of Mots7 is ON and Black Swan is also on there, just like J-Hope's Ego!

So others have pointed out that the white outfit is similar to something you would wear on a motorcycle, which he used to ride on as part of his delivery job he had when he was a trainee, and he is saying "I want..." for the things he said when he was starting out.... the dark outfit seems to be the him of 'today' realizing the pressure that comes with fame, and the danger of falling if you go to high and how lonely it can be. The Carl Jung philosophy says you have to recognize and come to terms with your shadow persona (the parts of yourself that are darker and that you may not want to admit about yourself) if you ever want to achieve the full development of self to the 'you' you want to be in the future, so near the end it is almost like he is talking between himself (SUGA) and himself (SHADOW). Also, when he seems to be reflecting back to the beginning (white outfit), notice the tonal elements of the music are actually reverse samples, like looking backwards in time and when it switches to him of today the tonal elements switch to normal. Glad you reacted to it. Gonna go check out the next reaction! :-)

I like to watch RM's Persona, Suga's Shadow and J-hope's Ego in order. The entire Map of the Soul 7 album is based on Carl Jung's Map of the Soul psychology book and theories. basically when they switched up the tempo of the song to be more gritty and aggressive, it was his "shadow" that was rapping saying that they are both the same....it's like Suga talking to his shadow.
