Me and a buddy were doing a farm house and he fuckin died hella early (first hunt) and we had legit NOTHING. I was so fucking SCARED dude. I went in, threw the EMF on the ground and used the ghost box to ask like 5 questions, ran out because the lights flicked on and off, grabbed a crucifix, went back in threw it on the ground, asked more questions. Left because mans whispered in my ear some nasty shit. (At this point only had ghost orb from the camera I had in the room). Went back in with UV, checked door, light switch,nothing. Threw UV down, grabbed a camera, went in, took photo of dead buddies corpse and walked out guessing phantom. It was a Jinn. EMF didnt read shit the whole time

I got tired of not actually knowing how all the things work so I decompiled the game and heres a few things I can confirm/ I found out Ouija Board: failed answer is a 100% chance to lose 40 sanity, if you do get an answer its -5 to -10 sanity unless its a demon in which case it gives you no sanity loss. Ghost Orbs: they really are glitchy, if your in a party try letting the party leader and whoever loaded in first look for them. If you say the ghosts name and it is a spirit box ghost, it has a 100% chance to use it once you meet the other conditions, theres a 50% chance you will need to be alone in the room. The lights do have to be off. It looks like toilets and elevators will become functional in the future. Theres a thing called a wiccan alter which I did not find much about. I did not have much time to look around but if theres anything else u wanna know ill see if I can find it. I don’t really plan on hacking the game or anything either btw, I just wanna understand how it works.

How do the crucifixes work? It seems that the most popular theory is that you need to drop it on the ground and when the ghost decides it wants to hunt, it checks if it's inside a 3 meter radius from the crucifix (also, what shape is this radius? A ball? A 2d flat circle?) And if the ghost is in that radius, the hunt doesn't happen and the crucifix uses 1 of its 2 charges. Does it do anything when it's in your hand? What about if it's in you tool belt in VR, the items (EMF, book, flashlights) do stay active when i the inventory but does the crucifix? I saw a comment by the dev and he said that if the hunt has started, there's nothing that can be done.

Update: the whole wraiths go through walls thing is more like wraiths can teleport directly to you. Also as far as I can tell the only thing different about wraiths and salt is the footprint thing. (Edit): had more time to search, this is not true, it gets very aggressive after steping in salt. Also shades are super dangerous if you go into their room alone, it can queue a couple different events. Going in with friends will make it flee.

@@420cactusgaming7 the crucifix has to be on the ground and it checks if its there right as it starts hunting. It wont work in your inventory, the radius is a circle. 3 meters for normal ghosts, 5 for banshees. I can go back and look to see exactly how that 3-5 meter radius works but I would imagine its just position-position get the magnitude and maybe ignore the y access in that calculation. Just check and that is infact what it does.

Counting on phasmophobia 2. I want immersive first person animations when using tools, gory kills and perhaps a mode where you try to talk with the ghost to understand how it died, why is it haunting the place, etc. Also the fact that you can only die in hunts makes the game less scary because you know when you are safe and when you aren't.

Asylum is a weird map, so when I say left, it's actually on the right when you're standing at the entrance looking in (and obviously when I say right it's on the left side when looking in). (So remember right = left and left = right because of how it was labelled looking top down) Camera locations: 1) left visitor room (near entrance) 2) right visitor room (near entrance) 3) back right corner of lobby 4) at intersection leading to downstairs, down hall of left visitor room 5) downstairs on the right in front of storage 8 6) left corridor main hall 7) cafeteria 8) left corridor looped hall 9) downstairs in front of right machine room 10) right corridor by stairs 11) downstairs corner by middle machine room 12) left side by dentist 13) middle machine room downstairs 14) left machine room 15) hallway right before conference room downstairs (For anyone more inclined to try and remember them based on the rooms rather than paying attention to the map)

That'd definitely turn the spoop factor up, since those would be extremely "Natural" (in quotes for a reason) sightings, as if it was doing something it once did in life.

Btw, the frst longest video I ever watched in your channel was a 54 mins (I think) video wherein the ghost was in the attic and it was a wraith and you got killed the moment you opened his radio... I was playing asylum with a friend but the ghost was bugged because the *entire* basement was under 6 C, and after 20 minutes of avoiding hunts and his death we didn't get ANY evidence so we decided to break camp and guessed it's a demon but it was a mare. ;(
