Hi Harry. I see you seem to be deliberately pushing off the ground with your trail foot and yet manage to secure it flat on the ground until way past impact through the ball when then you then allow your trail foot to release itself off the ground . Is this an accurate assessment of the trail foot on your downswing and is it deliberate? Thanks. By the way you do have a great repeatable swing. Are you working on personal flaws that you care to share with us. I am 71 and looking for self improvement and so I tried what I think you are doing. So far so good. But will know better in the weeks ahead. Thanks

Little over the top as you start the downswing. Could probably get more distance if you drop your arms into the slot. Edit: but nice swing and contact none the less.

Here's why you're steep if you're interested. (1)Posture- Backside is way back behind the heels at address with a straight back which means weight is on the heels. We were all taught to adopt this posture cause it looks athletic. It isn't for golf. It means we're unathletic through the ball. The important bit. Look at the postures of Hogan, Snead and Nicklaus. Why does almost nobody emulate these guys postures now? Cause we think it looks bad...They had it right. Setting up like you do practically ensures you will 'stand up' and get the backside moving in toward the ball as you do to instinctively find balance. This means the club HAS to steepen to get at the ball. Only a couple of guys set up this way and don't steepen. Mcilroy, Scott and D Johnson for example manage to keep their backside 'on the wall' on the way down because they're freaky athletic. Not a good way to do it for basically everybody else on the planet. (2) Right arm- At the top your right arm is extremely externally rotated at the shoulder with that very pinched in look, again we were all told was a good thing. The problem with this is that stretching a muscle this way means it wants to do the opposite when we change direction. Meaning the shoulder wants to rotate internally. Again this steepens the shaft too. Think of throwing a ball or swinging a baseball bat. Everyone massively internally rotates the right arm going back so that it can externally rotate coming down. 'Flying' elbows are a good thing at the top and will help you shallow. Again there are a couple of counter examples, Hogan, Sergio, but again these guys are very unusual.

None of that matters. Shappingtge ball is all about path. Look at the video version 2. I typically don’t really care about this tough because I’ve caddied on tour a bit and have seen the best. But the other video really impressed me because it’s an imperfect swing doing perfect things. Keep it up man it looks good

Harry Fowler regarding with your new swing it’s all well, however it’s the downswing that I e notice that you squat into your shot leading your hands to turn over too quick resulting it to hook. Therefore I suggest you have that same feeling on the down swing and as you squat but the leading hand which is the left flows through to your target a fraction longer resulting a much straighter ball flight mate! I hope this works for you as I e been studying your swing in my spare time
