This is the best video of actual bass-catching footage that I have ever seen. A duo hook by the anal fins on the lure would have assured a sooner hookup. Whether out of hunger or territoriality, this bass was looking for the green light for “Let’s Go!”

I’m late to the party, but I appreciate the underwater footage more than anything. I’m an old-timer, and we always had to blindly cast and get lucky. We guessed and made mental notes. You could put a pattern together, but to be able to observe your prey in natural habitat is priceless! That helps tremendously on trying to fool em with lures. See their actions & reactions. Pretty good footage ive been raising fish for over 35 years many different species and one thing ive observed. Is that they in general. Either have incredible taste buds or a sensitivity inside their mouths as they. Will spit things out very quickly if its not the food they want as a fisherman. Myself the observation has taught me that setting the hook needs to be done very quickly or the fish will get away. Everytime therefore you line is very important to transfer The signal to your rod more so in freshwater and lighter tackle situations

Amazing how quickly a bass sucks up a lure and then spits it back out if it thinks something is off. Makes me wonder how many fish I have missed because they swallowed then spat the lure out as I blinked :"D

Like Kid Tokay said, if the bass are on beds, they're in protective mode, not hunting mode. They'll chase and peck at whatever is invading the bed to ward it off. I was trying to catch a bedding female that was near the bank. I could see her peck at the bait to get it away and it took many casts to finally get her to eat it. She was my current PB, 6 pounds. You just gotta piss them off enough.

Looks like pre spawn bed protection. A female largemouth that size would have a 2foot diameter bed or more! Read a book watch a video or.... GO FING FISHING AND OBSERVE,!
