Insane value: This Ranga is a huge handmade ebonite fountain pen under $100. Sailor KOP alternative?

There is a video here, on KZbin, on how they make these Ranga pens. The gentleman who works on it's body cuts the thread manually. Using an old lathe. Manually! Without any measure tools! My mind was blown seeing this. On titanium. I have a Conid pen, one of their early models, with their old logo and a fine titanium nib by Bock, #5 if I'm not mistaken. I like the nib a lot because it gives a distinct and unusual feedback in comparison to steel ang gold nibs. But the gentlemen from Conid specifically told me not to push on this nib and certainly not to flex it because titanium has a bad property - it flexes for a while but if you push it too hard it bends. Apart from gold and steel it doesn't give you a feel "I'm about to bend", it just bends. And that's it, it's next to impossible to restore such a nib, whatever you do the fold stays. That is the reason why even these days of high technology there aren't many everyday things made of titanium. Be careful with the nib.

My Ranga videos get a lot of views. I know you said you don’t feel the need to get another Ranga, but you really are missing out on their acrylics. They are stunning. If you order directly from Ranga, there are an insane number of nibs to choose from, including Ranga, Bock, Jowo, and Schmidt. Fountain Pen Revolution also carries Ranga Pens. I think you should get just one more!

I purchased one of their acrylic pens and the Bock medium nib writes well. Very good looking pen. Most likely hand-turned on a lathe as well.

Around this price range I got a Titanium Namisu Horizon with a titanium fine Bock nib and it is really a nice combination. The only con that i find with these nibs is that they often suffer from ink starvation and run dry, depending on the ink that you use I suppose ... A Ranga no5 with a No8 Bock nib is on my list too, but their listings seem to be unavailable too often ...

I'd like to express a dissenting opinion. I got a Karas Fountain K with a Bock titanium nib, and I ended up giving it away, as I just couldn't seem to really control it. No sure why, but ti nibs are not for me.

Makes sense to me. These Titanium nibs feel different than all other nibs I own - I can see them being a polarizing option!

I have this 4C in the same solid blue.. i recently ordered 3C model in solid black ebonite as i like the classic cigar shape ebonite pens...

Warning!!! Ranga does not take returns or attempt to correct clear errors - While I received a beautiful pen it was clearly not even close to the colour I had chosen. The main response was that it was the colour I had chosen and no recourse was available - very saddened that I will not get to use a Ranga pen

100 USD is like 9000 rupees 😮 which sounds like a ripoff 😛
