I doubt whether there will be any colony on Europa within the next two or three hundred years. It is too small to terraform, has acute radiation problems that would kill an astronaut outright within five minutes' exposure, hugely expensive and why would we do it, when probes could answer the questions for us. We need to remember that the world's space agencies today would be hard pressed to devise a safe way to send a brief manned mission to our moon. Astronauts 50 years ago went there with a combination of blissful ignorance and luck. The fact that they did not perish on the voyage is little short of a miracle.

(6:29) that is not the Europa Clipper. That is the latest design of the EC: europa.nasa.gov/mission/science-instruments/ I would think a exploration base on lower radiation hazard Callisto makes more sense. There is apparently water ice and rock available and the radiation levels are much lower than Europa. Exploring the Jupiter system could be coordinated at such a facility. Your dates are, in my view, unduly pessimistic. With SpaceX working to open space at dramatically cheaper rates, the building of Space Liners capable of taking vast tonnage to far off solar system destinations is only a matter of time. 50 years would be my pessimistic guess.

Could we colonize Europa? Eventually perhaps, but no time soon. We can't even colonize Antarctica...there's a large frozen ocean on Antarctica's surface and it's way closer than Europa. Colonization of Antarctica is not practical for any useful purpose. Antarctica's temperatures are balmy compared to Europa's. I'd also presume that it would be far less expensive to learn to produce HE3 here on Earth or mine it on our own moon than to fetch it back from Europa or any other distant planetary satellite. There's no lethal radiation in Antarctica. Any earthlings intending to attempt colonization of any distant place would have to depart understanding that their lives are sacrifices for science. So, the answer to that question seems obvious. Until we have space propulsion systems far superior to those we have now, robot probes are about the only option for further exploration of Europa or other distant bodies.

one of the worst videos of this channel regarding the background music over the voice.. struggled for the first 5 minutes to concentrate on anything said.. nearly stopped watching and nearly left the channel as well. Music too loud or distractive. Fortunately as the author finally started to speak about actual colonization and not basic information on Europe, the background sound slightly improved and I was able to focus on the content.. but due to at least half the video wasted time and discomfort I might stop watching this videos in future. I also always wanted to mention that the commentator despite sounding super professional actually does not seem to be perfect for this type of videos or for the author's text.. it's not easy to follow somebody who is just reading out text, I'd rather prefer some far less professional voice but of a person who understands the contents and has interest in the subject or maybe you need to hire somebody who would improve the text as well to make it sound better and easier to follow or at least to read out by your commentator as it feels like he properly struggles. Please don't get offended or anything, just trying to give feedback (surely you can leave everything as it is, you have already earned thousands of subscribers, it perfectly proves that everything you do works perfectly fine the way it is), keep up the great work. Good luck.
