Cameron UK Firing by rank was not a popular firing method when assaulting, it was considered by the pioneering French army to be less effective than fire and advance. While by rank was used by Prussian and Austrians, the game is supposed to revolve around France.

In fire by rank you need to wait for slowest one to reload, which limits it to for example 2 shots a minute. When everyone shoots as fast as they can, some can shoot 5 shots a minute, others 3 and some 1.

Yeah, Imagine that you could choose between individual firing, firing by rank, volley firing, kneel firing,...etc.

For the British it was standard after a volley or two of Battalion volley to switch to platoon fire creating a constant but lower volume of fire. With the racket of battle and confusion firing after the platoon to your side fired was highly effective. With the front ranks of an enemy column constantly being dropped it was a very brave attack to keep advancing into it. Bernard Cornwell wrote about it in a few of his Sharpe books.

+David Frigault Total War games in general could really use an overhaul when it comes to things like a tactical or fighting retreat. The engine limitations extend far beyond Napoleon. I mean, there are routs and there are routs, but in Total War every defeat looks the same.

You need to do or get scenarios where it's different challenges, even if they are stupid ones such as marching all armies to within like 10 meters of each other, lineup and fire at will, that would be a good watch

I think that the best timeline that we could get is the age of the 1st and 2nd French empire. Starting during the rise of Napoleon (1790's I believe) to the end of Napoleon the third (january 1870). The list of wars it would include : The Napoleonics Krimean war Balkan wars (there were 2 of 'em) The unification of Italy and Germany. This is also the age of imperialism and neoapsolutism so we could get a map of the world also

Tehbidmangaming 7 Are you serious? "Try DipixleHeated" First of all, don't be a smart-ass. Second, Dpixle is seasoned and his content for MOWAS2 is repetitive. So is Raptor's content. They're NOT bad by any stretch of the imagination(in fact, they're great); but they certainly aren't the big shit that they used to be. Also, it gets annoying having to wait a long ass time for new uploads. Dpixle sometimes takes weeks to upload stuff. Besides, Appollo played it and he said he would do more, yet there hasn't been so much as a nod to it. So people are just poking to make sure he hasn't forgotten. Most people who love Total War also love the Men Of War series, so i'm sure most were ecstatic about the fact he did a video with it. People want a freshy to the Men of War community in addition to Apollo's reactions and commentary would fit perfectly.
