FS7M2, Rokinon 50mm cine @ 2.8 and a metabones speeedbooster is still my favourite interview combination without having to sell the house. Great to see the new cine lenses filling the market. Options are fantastic, but super sharp is not always the right way to go. That option gives me great separation, depth and is flattering to my subjects. B-Roll is usually a Fuji MK18-55mm. Nice content and a cruisy delivery - keep it coming, very enjoyable.

As someone who uses cheap equipment, I am shocked at how many self proclaimed professionals complete suck at audio. Audio is one thing I never cheap out on, my most expensive equipment, is audio and second most expensive equipment, lightning.

I watched a short film using the original trio and bought the set after seeing how awesome the jellyfish flare was. I was surprised you weren't getting much flare on the new set. Longitudinal chromatic aberration can sometimes look bad, but most the time the image is awesome. Soft and low contrast, dream-mode wide open, and sharpens up real fast by 1.8. The handling is the greatest part. I wish the close focus contrast was better. I was doing a lot of close ups of flowers and pollinators this spring and summer so I stopped using them as much. Oh yeah... you didn't need to kill that bee >_

They are great honestly tor the price, but I owned the 24 on my FX30 and it looked really great, but the ONLY thing I didn’t like about them was that the aperture ring was too loose. When I solo operated, I would always accidentally bump it and it would mess with my exposure and it got really annoying for me haha.

Thank you for the helpful info in the video! As a new FX30 owner (with an A7SIII, BMPCC FF, and S5IIX in my kit), I’ve been searching for a solid lens setup to pair with the APS-C body, and these seem like a fantastic value. I had the chance to try one from the Sniper series at a camera shop and was impressed with the results. My only hesitation is the idea of being locked into APS-C-only lenses. Initially, I was considering going the PL/EF cinema lens route, but at that level, value becomes a secondary consideration. Decisions, decisions!

Bro, no offense but if you truly own all that gear you need to just focus on your craft at this point... you have GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). You could honestly be set with one of those bodies and then invest in glass and most importantly, skill set

This isn’t a “G.A.A.S.” (Unlike my music production addiction), but I don’t own any cine glass, which is why I’m asking. Additionally, I don’t have any crop sensor lenses that would pair better with the FX30, so that’s the main reason behind my question.

Hey Jake, great video on an interesting set of lenses, I really like your videos and have been watching all of them for quite a while, even if the topic or piece of equipment is not one i'd consider, just because you have great insights on what to consider when buying certain pieces of gear all the way to how it affects your image in post, that is great and also the case here. For this one though i would've liked if you made it more clear that this is a paid collaboration, still a great video but sour aftertaste, no alternatives or comparison to other affordable cine lenses, talking about downsides like "creative choices" or "preferences" just doesn't sit that well with me. Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. I totally understand what you’re saying here, but this video isn’t in fact a paid collaboration. If I ever make it to the point where companies are paying me to review gear, I’ll let you guys know. For now I only review gear I’m interested in and have personal thoughts on, and the Nightwalkers fit into that. They aren’t my favorite lenses in the world, and I probably won’t end up using them a bunch since I have other lenses I prefer, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t great lenses for other filmmakers with different taste and have different budgets. I really appreciate the comment though, it’s important to recognize when you’re being sold something versus being recommended something. In this case, it’s the latter. Cheers
