Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we take out this 2008 Holden VE SS with a Holden Dealer Team (HDT) Group 3 Body kit fitted and modified to over 484RWHP with Full Exhaust, Big Lumpy Cam, CAI, & Tune! This V8 is a proper Aussie muscle car! we also visit the crash site of Peter Brock out on Obrien rd to pay respects as Peter Brock was essentially the founder and owner of the original HDT..

There's one down here in Mandurah, I see around 6AM in the morning, either his isn't tuned like this one or he's useless at take-off's as my ID1000 and a tune only (270Kw) G6ET kicks the cr4p out of it.

Great review Johnny! Excellent quality as always. Just a note - the VE's have TR6060 manual box, not T56. Keep up the incredible work.

The Holden VEs and the LS2 HSVs have the T56. TR6060 didn’t come in until LS3 in the HSVs and pretty sure the VF in the Holdens.

i found a ve calais v wagon with a hdt kit on it (body kit, rims and badge). did they ever make a wagon version of these or is it just a replica? if its fake, i dont care since 1, that thing looks kickass and 2, im in the us and just need the shell, and its cheap for what it is, so i can scratch that hsv itch i been having. hdt is the next best thing

The VE design has alot of the VK in it. The front is more square the wheel arches are pronounced, The VZ is more rounded to my eyes.

Man, im a little biased as anything past a VL isnt a true hdt. My brother had an vh hdt, so carby 308, from memory stock they made 188kw, maybe less but around that. But yeah, if you can get your hands on a true hdt that would be a grass roots review.

great review of this rather unique v8 commodore, but honestly you have to be careful with nextride dealership, they are some dodgy people. I brought a fg xr8 off them before covid and they never mentioned the damage on the car and how bad the paint was, but also that they had never bothered to flush the brake and clutch system because it was nearly turning to water when I got the car, to top it off after a year they rang me to ask me if I would resell them the car. Buyers beware of Nextride

They probably supply Jono with cars and in return, he advertises it for sale... When buying a car, you must do your research and you should get a pre purchase inspection from a third party mechanic, as well as thoroughly inspecting it yourself because there are dodgy people everywhere!

@@MartinJones123 I agree with you there, but I did have a 3rd party mechanic do a full vehicle inspection for me and unfortunately I was able to make it over to perth as I live in VIc, so it was all over the phone, it was something I knew would be a risk, but even the 3rd party mechanic didn't let me know about the problems with the car.

@@vxsr33 I agree and I was willing to take the risk on it, but definitely never doing that again unless its done by someone like RACV or equivalent. it certainly has so I could very easily make a god turn around on it but I'm determined to make it look great again and have my fun with it. I was just dishearten by what everyone was telling me compared to what I had saw for myself, but I'm loving the car so much, no real intentions to get rid of it anytime soon
