Northern Ontario Canoe Route/Trip-Redstone River (Bottom Part)-2010

The Redstone River another local river part of our heritage. paddeling solo the bottom part of the river from Douglas TWS road to Langmir road, This section of the river is easier to navigate compared to the smaller less traveled top part of the river.
the river had portage trails back in the 80's like other local rivers but the forest has moved in. My guess is the local trapper takes care of the logjams before they get too big (Thanks for that) Traveling at low water crossing many beaver dams and rapids, near the end the river enters the northern claybelt changing the water color to a beige brown. hope this helps.

Awesome, now I was just going to say that if you didn't cast a line I was going to unsubscribe :) Joking, but still, fish more. Also show us your camp set up. Where are you camping? Are there sites or are you making site?? What kind of canoe are you using? Show us the bottom of it!

billert55 I'm always fishing when canoeing but I cant film everything, There's just me, one man show Ha Ha! I do fish a lot especially for brookies.Most of the time I'm too tired to film camp set up. I camped where I could.My canoe is a Mad River 16 feet long Triple Royal Ex made for white water.The bottom of the canoe is flat and now beat up by many trips and still using it.Thanks for watching!

Great video. Used Mad River Royalex canoes come up for sale about 2 times a year. They get purchased in under a week - every time. I too have a Mad River 16 foot Royalex canoe model name Freedom. I considered selling her and replacing her with an ultra-light kevlar/graphite canoe. Significant research and I reached the conclusion to keep the perfect boat I have. She weights 77 pounds and was build in 1990. She had many thousands of miles on a hundred lakes and rivers. If I want to ultra light paddle, I just use my Nelo Inuk kevlar 43 pound kayak. Love watching your dog too.
