Hi Alexis! You wearing that Original Canadian bug shirt made me smile! 2013 I came to Canada for a three month motorcycle trip (which did in fact also include kayak paddling and white water rafting!), from Halifax to Vancouver with a few "small detours" to Yukon, Klondike and Inuvik. Anyway, when I came through immigration the officer there didn't really believe me, that I was just coming for pleasure, but didn't have any intention to work during those three months. So I met two nice ladies from immigration, who wanted to be sure I have no other intentions than exploring your wonderful country. They made me unpack all my gear, which had taken me two days to get packed perfectly. I told them I will be riding a bike from east to west, camping, cycling, kayaking, hiking, whatever was possible with rented equipment. Then they found "The Original Canadian Bug Shirt" I had bought at home in Sweden in the bag, looked at each other, started laughing and one said "You are really going to need that!", made me pack again and wished me all the best for the trip. That thing did the magic to convince them of my adventurous intentions. And girl, what I needed that thing a month later in Ontario! ;-) Wish you a nice winter, enjoy the snow - we don't have any here in Stockholm so far! :-(

Careena, I am not one to make assumptions about anything in life, but I have a feeling and made some observations that lead me to my own conclusions. I will not be so arrogant as to access those thoughts here in public, but I believe I know what has taken place in your life. You will always have your devoted followers here Alexa and with your KZbin family , God and the love of both you will get through this. If character is any indication about your future...well it is a bright one. Take your time we are not going anywhere. You have our unwavering love and respect. You are a Beautiful and talented independent woman whose future is bright. Sometimes we just have to go it alone and look for that next great and unexpected adventure. I told you earlier this year that I have a life quotes book coming out in the Spring and I found this quote that I wrote for myself several years back and hope you find some peace and courage in it. Carry on Careena and always know that with no strings or conditions you can message me for the support you may need on bad days going forward. You are truly loved my friend! Character is most revealed when we are at our worst moments in life but we push forward anyway! Quote: Fate is an unknown journey into the yet to be discovered destiny of each of our hearts. A journey which starts with the belief that if we hang on to the one thing that compels us to seek what we believe is our providence or predestination, that life will somehow find that undiscovered adventure that was preordained from the moment of our conception and that which we seek will ultimately find us. Believe in "Divine Providence" and that life is not scripted or prescribed by man but instead by forces that are beyond our control. If we look closely or pay attention to what the heart feels, we will find the glorious intervention we call fate… a manifestation conceived as omnisciently directing the universe and the affairs of humankind with wise benevolence. ~ George Wheeler

Two years ago, I had a moment similar to the one you had in this video - except it was on Happy Isle Lake in Algonquin. Sometimes, being out there alone gives us time to feel things more acutely than we would with our modern distractions. However, in feeling it, we come to terms; and, in coming to terms, we begin to move on. They say that when one door closes, another opens. I wish you (and Griz!) the best of luck as you work through your troubles.

I discovered your channel this past spring, and after watching all of your videos (and looking forward to more), just wanted to say thanks for the great content! As someone who works in video production and digital content, I really admire your patience and thorough approach to getting tonnes of shots (that are time consuming and painstaking to set up) and really telling a story each time. Bravo! And of course...Grizz! Also wanted to thank you for the inspiration to get out more. Life long camper and fan of the outdoors, but your channel really got me amped this summer for getting more serious about bushcraft. Slowly amassing more gear and always looking forward to the next adventure. And, from what it's worth from a complete stranger, sorry to hear about whatever is happening. We appreciate you taking the time to create content for us while you have important things going on in your life. Cheers.

Alexis, you are an inspiration! What ever changes you are going through - it will pass and you'll figure it, and will make it work. Don't give up. Sometimes it feels like you are running like a chicken with a head cut off, or Grizz with his zoomies but you are taught. And if you'll ever come to BC - I'll buy you a drink and give you my Jeep to explore.

Glad you found a way on to the lake. Fishin's like that, it's always the favorite lure that snags and probably the origin of the saying "better luck next time". I do what you do -- solo into the woods and onto secluded waters; the more secluded the better. I have an Old Town 14ft 'solo' canoe which I thought was pretty light/portable, but yours is crazy light! A very nice rig! Don't neglect local worms and grubs for bait; sometimes the only thing trout will bite is "fresh meat". Also the atmospheric changes with a coming storm will often put those fish off feeding until it passes. Algonquin Park is great but is perhaps becoming "too popular" for its own good. Years ago I canoed in Parc Prov. de La Verendy in Quebec, 200 km North of Algonquin. There was no one there but the Cree in their fishing camps. Now that was 'secluded'. I wish you the best of outcomes from your 'hard times'. You seem to be very sensible, practical, strong and smart. But I know that our emotions don't always follow the sensible, practical, smart expectations we have of them. So, again, be well, stay safe and hold on patiently for better times. By the way, Kudos for the serious attention you pay to setting up your video shots It's as if you have 3 camera crews shooting simultaneously and you are cutting back and forth between them.
