I love the movement and animation of the ship. The tilting, the rotation, the engine animations, the fire and thruster effects, the movement and inertia. It looks like there is a lot of effort put into it and it really pays off. Awesome. It looks super responsive as well. Enough inertia to look realistic, but not too much to affect maneouvrability in a bad way.

I see a huge amount of potential for this game. Honestly in terms of variety, I feel like having a garage of types of different specialized vehicles would really do well for this game. For example a medium four-legged walker with a big cannon or laser on a top turret, basically the Halo locust. Basically a slow moving, high damage output in one piercing direction at a time. Later it gets big armor boosts unlike the vtol currently in the game. It's different than a tank visually to make it unique, but essentially acts like one mechanically. Then honestly I feel like the equipment like teleporting should be actual equipment. Things like one-time use items that make the run easier or survivable. It might be weird, but having something equivalent to infantry might be cool for this. When you loose the vehicle, you ditch it 10-20 meters ejecting away as a guy in a small exosuit or mobility suit, to make sense of how you live through this experience. You're fast enough to outrun most of the bugs but not all, and you only carry a fraction of the crystal you had. Your gear determines how you'd survive that, which probably would be a whole section of upgrades to invest in. Maybe going in on foot would be how Splat brought up entering those derelects, and maybe even nests for exploring lore and extra loot. Also, this is a nitpick but am I the only one that thought taking a minigun to a crystal deposit was really inefficient logistically speaking?

I think adding something like a "get x number of crystals for your sponsor in y amount of time" would also be a good idea, you would then have to balance pleasing your sponsor and upgrading the mechs at the same time.

I was basically going to write a similar comment to yours lol. Like, you start as infantry, and can upgrade into different vehicles and mechs. Maybe a multiplayer option too, for people that like that. EDIT: also, a flamethrower. 🔥

Like a Eve Online escape Pod. That has the upgraded 'human' that's the player in it. About the minigun harvesting, It would be an interesting change for the bigger 'heavy/slow' vehicles to have ACTUAL harvesting equipment. So they get MORE but it's a trade off. Though I could see having a remote controlled drone that's used while defending the harvester. Maybe the main vehicle having a reinforced shield or like an armor wall it deploys to protect it, with say an artillery piece too. So having defense weapons to upgrade for it and specials it can do during that to push back and defend but high speed attacking is an option too.

The best thing about this game is the raw potential. People have already posted comments with great ideas that I'd love to see implemented and there's just so many directions this game can go. I love this genre between horde slayer and tower defense, it reminds me very much of Rift Breaker. What I think Rift Breaker got wrong was it tries to do too much without mastering anything it was trying to do. In a way, the simplicity of this game is what makes it work.

Ahh looks like an old EA game i used to play back on the sega genesis actually. Jungle strike and Desert strike.. those games were awesome back when EA used to actually make great games. You piloted an apache helicopter with this exact sort of view and gameplay. Not the exact same gameplay as you weren't farming, nor were there ever more than few enemy tanks, or Sam sites etc to fight at one time but rather completing scripted missions within a fairly open map like this. Certainly the way you stay just above the ground and strafe around firing it almost looks like they took inspiration from those games.

Seems like a really fun game! I would make a couple of changes though. I understand that both of these are probably intentional and work well for gameplay purposes, but I think they would add in terms of immersion: 1. Bugs have a lot of inertia. This looks fine for flying bugs, but ground bugs look more like vehicles than something that is alive. Maybe have them move a tiny bit slower in trade for the lower inertia? It would also add some variety to how you handle different enemies. 2. I don't like using the guns to mine. Maybe you must switch to your mining tool? Maybe you could automine as long as you are not moving? Or as long as you are not firing? Or as long as you are very close? Shooting at the crystals feels weird to me. Apart from that. This looks awesome. Great music. Cool graphics. Simple and fun gameplay loop. Definitely going into my wishlist.

I think players should have benefits from using the boosts and jumps, say hopping ravines or getting away from an area attack, like an acid bombardment from some bombardier buggo. Maybe there could be some variety (and easy openings for lore) with transportation or delivery missions or even zone defense missions where fellow marines are trying to claim territory (which if you succeed gives you benefits). Or it'd be cool if there were raiders/scavengers you have to fight one on one, or even like a bug cult that buffs bugs around them, gather swarms, and stuff.
