Honestly as somebody who brings indy games to the masses it makes more sense that you'd be doing so on hardware that more represents what your audience will likely be using. I've never seen anybody purposefully use an entry level rig in order to screen for games with performance issues, or to better experience the game as the average player might, now that I think about it.

The concept is awesome. I love this kind of base building games. I'm not in love of the graphics, but if it's fun I can get used to the graphics. I would definitely like to see more of this, like... what level of automation can you achieve? Can you make your base into a ship and travel to other locations? What other content will there be? O2 running out is painless, the side effect is unconsciousness followed by death. The true worry is CO2 accumulation, where your body can't vent C02 efficiently, and then you hyperventilate while your blood becomes acidic.

So far the most intriguing is "Void Train" -- I mean that it is the game that most takes this type of game in a direction I want more of. Maybe I speak to soon (it's early access)?

The one thing that's bugging me is the crafting doesn't have build counts. It just keeps crafting the same thing over and over. Everything else is cool. I like the Subnautica rock breaking vibes. The game feels like a cross between Oxygenfree and Void Train. I would absolutely add the hookshot ability, though. That sounds awesome.

This sure does look like a base building system in a game with seemingly harmless space rocks. The tractor beam as a nice touch. Need to see a lot more to be interested, this field is so packed that a “oneman” can jump in with something playable fairly easily.

Oh this game DOES remind me a lot of a similar game, that one has automated asteroid collectors and factorio-like macro building, you can even get NPCs for a tier upgrade I believe.

well i'm pretty sure you're supposed to make more crafters and crushers so you just fetch rocks and dump them, rather than waiting around for each craftable

This looks like the game Remains. Exact same scenario with a broken ship you start on and need to craft the ship and everything. I am curious if it remade or if this is an entirely different dev but from memory Remains has a story. I also wonder how much there is to do. I can see finishing every craftable and every resource in large quantities within the first hour of game play. Then what? What more is there to explore and gather? That is where these game fail. Craft a giant ship, build a giant factory, build a giant warehouse, and then do what? Sit in orbit of the same place and collect the same resources over and over to craft the same stuff you have in 30000 storage containers. It has no goal or reason. Multiplayer would be horrid as you would have nothing to do. But at least its an option. Fun for the first hour as you build the base/ship then stuck staring into space wondering what you have done with your life. These games need a purpose/goal that gives reason for surviving beyond just crafting and also needs a story arc that compels the player to do things that have a purpose. Most cases you just gather gather gather, and end up in the same place you started.. floating in space trying to remove your helmet.

i hope you know how to do proper sandboxing and security when getting this crazy trash sent to you : probably take hard drive images, and restore them entirely when done testing a new game, dont do any logins or browsing until you restore image, beware there is also BIOS/UEFI and hard drive firmware viruses now too ... that could survive between image restores

About the performance issues. It just looks like there are too many game objects in the scene and it isn't using DOTS. Overall, from a game dev perspective, the game looks pretty poor and is poorly optimised. Just feels like the demo was rushed out quickly to beat competitors to market. It's a cash grab essentially. Nothing really to see here.
