My aunt has a place directly across the main channel from where you were fishing. Never taken kayaks out but will be in a few weeks when we go down for vacation.

Aniskoff is right. Doesn't matter if you are keeping but those fish handled that way were released to die probably. Best thing I have found is do not touch them at all and if you must, wet your hands first absolutely without fail. A lip gripper tool and a hook remover (if needed) ensure you will probably not need to touch the fish. They will be good as new except for a sore mouth. Great video enjoyed watching it. Edit: also, and this is for everyone btw not just FishAholic.. try not to allow them to flail and beat themselves up on the deck of the boat, that is not good for them either. I know it can't always be helped just something to try and be mindful of. Cheers.

You need to go out with outlaw charters. I take my son Spanish mackerel and kingfish trolling every year. It’s so much fun.

Yes Speckeled Sea Trout are highly prized table fare normally pan fried. Size limit in SC is 14". Know Murrells Inlet well. Impressed you did so well over such a short span of water.

+James J. Lee Thanks cool to know maybe ill throw one on the stringer next time. First time there in the yak i was pleased with how well i did. But i did my research well and conditions were right in December because of the fairly warmer weather this 2015/2016 winter.

Another good 1! Thanks for posting! Where did you stay down there? Also how far did you wander from your launch site?

+ted ted Thanks I stayed with a family member who lives down in south Carolina. I ventured probably at most a mile or so away from the boat launch fishing in between as well.

+Downs304 Yeah I mean it depends how much water your willing to cover and fish. If you want to cover water and find fish I would say fish with Z-man products such swimbaits, trout tricks and tip them on a 1/4-1/2 jig head. Also maybe some shallow running jerkbaits, soft plastic grubs, weedless gold spoons, and mirror lures. Bait from what I leared fishing in SC can be very effective. Kayak and anchor near a creek mouth going into the main channel and throw out mud minnows for trout/flounder maybe redfish, and throw out some shrimp for redfish and you should have some hungry fish swim on by and eat something. Im new to fishing SC so my advice is limited but there are many fishing reports for saltwater fishing in SC that will give you effective reports and what people are using to catch fish and that should definitely help.

Thank you for the info in doing research on fishing there and came across your video

Cool cool yeah well I hope my video helps a little I was fishing there during December so the fishing will be a little different if your heading down in the spring or summer. Good Luck let me know if you catch any fish on Grubs. Soft Plastic Grubs are a very good bait for Trout. Tight Lines!

@@FishAholicTV we are heading down in April 2019 by Myrtle Beach State Park and we have a small they call lake behind our Air B & B with about 9 acres of waterways that on the far end has high tide coming into it. Looks like we should have a good time in the canoe and hopefully catch some fish. So hard to know the does and dont and what way to grab the fish and what not to do. Its good to have tasteful tips and corrections from others that know the era or the fish. Cant wait to try my luck and see how rubber worms will work in these waters. The Lake is just a big pond to me but all is good. Keep the videos coming love the details.
