Basically she will continue to pass this apartment down in her family unless the building is sold and turned into coops. Nice video but this is not what 1300 gets you in nYc unless your grandparents and parents have lived in the same building since before the 70s.

Same!! After my grandparents died me, my daughter and mother moved in the 3 bedroom 3 full bathroom living room dining room and foyer a lot of closets pantry etc etc etc and we’re only paying $1,2500. We had to go through succession rights as natural children and grandchildren paperwork. But it’s a big apartment and we was not letting it go Lol my birth certificate has this address on it. My grandparent had this apartment for about 50 yrs before they died. But yup so glad it was passed down to us! Ok so we don’t have a butlers pantry or fireplaces which is awesome we just have a pantry closet! But yes very blessed ours is also rent stabilized.

I love the framed art work in that area but feel if it had been hung closer together, each piece would have worked better, collectively. But oh! Everything is such a delight and it is obvious that a lot of love, thought and creativity went into creating this haven 😍

Hattie, I love your UWS NY Apt. Your eye for respect + love for the vintage leads to impeccable interior design. wOw! I want to sit in and soak up every room. You are motivated and you were brave to start out testing the waters on public platforms. I have a 1670sqft home I bought in 2010, when realestate prices were relatively low, in a CT historical seafaring town; I got lucky. It's nothing I would be able to afford now. Embarrassingly then and now, I am forever perplexed on how to put rooms together like what you have done. My parents have passed and I saved/am saving items from their home in NJ. I have not a clue on how to get them to fit into my home, although I can't see myself getting rid of a 200 year old china cabinet that was my Mother's mothers and 60 or so oil paintings from my father who was a known historical painter in the town in which I grew up. I also schlepped a bed and desk he had crafted when I was a teen. He was oil painter + master carpenter. I think one either has design sense or not at all. I'm afraid I've fallen into the latter. I loved seeing your before pictures. It reveals motivation and your keen eye on design. I'm sure you poured many, many hours and tears into restoring some of the pieces you have acquired. I believe, also, that your success as an infulencer has much to do not only with your design sense, but your humble nature which comes out clearly in your You Tube vid. Amazing Apt. Love it!

This apartment, based on the location of "absolute bagels" at 13:14, is around 107th street which technically is not upper west side and it is around Manhattan Valley and not the safest neighbrohood. It is still an amazing deal but just to give a point of reference: a two-bedroom like this in Manhattan Valley may cost around 3500-4500$ as of 2021, but in the proper upper west side this apartment could be rented for around 7000-8000$.

I love your place. If I may, I would paint the frame of the door in the same color of your wall, however into a different sheen. Continue to have fun!!! 🌷

This is a dream place to live. The old NYC apartment with a long hallway. The butler's pantry is lovely. Hattie is a very talented decorator. Lucky kitty cat to live in such a serene environment. I know I have seen this before on another computer I use and I left a comment then, but I had to leave another comment.

That is long term theft from the owner. It's not hers to pass. Has anyone heard of the 4th amendment?

I cannot believe how lucky she is to have this apartment at that price! I was drooling the whole time. It's amazing! The price is... It's like a fairy tale. Or a dream. You know those dreams where you find the absolute perfect place, with so many rooms, for a totally affordable price? That's this place! She's right about the kitchen. My place was built in 1928, so almost 50 years after hers. It was considered ultra modern at the time. There is no appointed space for any appliances, so the appliances look kind plunked in any-old-how. We're still brainstorming about how to fix that without losing the Arts and Crafts feel of the space.
